Paradise Point Villa & Hanging Garden Villa - Review Page 4
Terrace & Nature Trail
After walking down to the villas from the car parking area, you are sure to be knocked out by the 2,000 sq.ft. partially-covered terrace, with its colourful potted plants and outstanding views of Castara.
Furnished with four padded sun-loungers and a number of all-weather plastic armchairs, this is an ideal place to sunbathe or relax whilst soaking up the wonderful ethos of the property. The terrace is shared by all guests staying at the property, so is a good place to lime and share experiences and stories of your holiday and Tobago.
A narrow path zigzags down the hillside from the villa. It is somewhat overgrown at present and long trousers and firm shoes are essential, as is lots of bug-deterrent. Sadly lack of time prevented us from experiencing the full walk. According to Paradise Point Villa's website “a landscaped switchback trail leads deep through the hillside to the serenity of the 35-ft.-high Mystic Falls. It's a great place to bring a picnic. From there, the trail continues down a riverine path towards the sea. Along the trail is the roaring Sea Falls, which affords an awe-inspiring vista of the sea below and the water wooshing through the rocks. For the courageous, a descent to the sea is possible.”
Staff
A well-known Castarian, Porridge, will probably have been arranged to provide meet and greet services at the airport on your arrival and to bring you back to Paradise Point Villa (via the island’s main supermarket). Porridge is quite a character and his beaming smile and easy manner are sure to set your mind at rest after the stress of your long flight to Tobago.
Housekeeping services are provided by a cheery lady, Gemma. She comes every other day, at which time she sweeps the apartments and change the sheets and towels. Personal laundry and cooking can be arranged directly with her on arrival, at reasonable local rates.
The third member of the team is Ital, who is responsible for the gardens and nature trail. Once you have seen the wonderful landscape, you will marvel at his ability to work on such a terrain.
Conclusion
Whilst we love our many ‘back to basics’ experiences along Tobago’s gorgeous northern coast, we confess that we are also suckers for a bit of comfort.
Owner, Alice Farling, arranges wedding, family reunions and yoga retreats to Paradise Point Villa from the United States. I cannot imagine a more appropriate or suitable place from which to base such activities. Everything about the property promotes a sense of calm relaxation and well being.
Paradise Point Villa (incorporating Hanging Garden Villa) undoubtedly offers very high standards of accommodation in a truly stunning environment. We have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending both Paradise Point Villa and Hanging Garden Villa.
