I have stayed at Villa Iguana twice now - both times for one week duration.

Our visits have been exclusively for fishinng the local beaches and rock marks and we have found the location at Pleasant Prospect ideal for hopping from one side of the island to the other (lower Caribbean) due to it's proximity to a number of roads that criss-cross Tobago from Mt Irvin area to The Claude Noel Highway.

The two bedroom apartment has two double Bedrooms - one (to the rear of the property) with air con. The other bedroom has louvered shutters and faces the sea (across the varandah and decking, then 15 metres below)so air con is not needed.

The lounge area (approx 10sq metres) is simply furnished with a two-seater sofa, a small coffee table and an arm chair. There is a small TV with cable channels (free, no card needed).

As the living area is open plan, the kitchenette is to the right of the lounge and consists of a sink unit with H&C, cupboards underneath and along one wall, a butane gas hob and a fridge freezer (medium sized). Crockery, cutlery and pots and pans are just enough to get by, if you wash up regularily (which we didn't - 4 blokes sharing!!).

As somewhere to crash out and cook a basic meal (beans on toast)it's a real home from home.

The three main benefits for us were -

1) Its proximity to the Pizza Boys outlet at pleasant Prospect, supermarket and fruit stalls also nearby.

2) The stunning views across to Plymouth

3) The owner - Rodney, who is sometimes in residence.

For those seeking basic ammenities and stunning views - Villa Iguana won't dissapoint.
