Fritz, Ernst and Bertha on their way back to the treehouse - Freeing the Zebra from the quicksand pit scene
Studley Park is a located a short distance from where the Disney movie animals were housed in Goodwood. So, it was not that difficult to transport the animals for the filming of these scenes. Disney almost went overboard filming this sequence which included several hyenas, a leopard and of course, the trapped zebra!

Swiss Family Robinson - movie making snake scene at Pigeon Point lagoon, Tobago 1959.
Stunt doubles of Fritz (James MacArthur) and Ernst (Tommy Kirk) were used for most of this sequence.
Only a brief filming was done with James MacArthur ‘fighting’ the snake for closeup shots.

The movie scenes where the menagerie of animals were rescued from the shipwreck, were filmed at Boat Bay, Belle Garden.
I hope to do some comparison ‘movie screenshots with present day photos’ soon.
