Alibaba's Sea Breeze

Post by Barbie Jeffery »

:D We have just returned from a wonderful week staying at Alibaba's Sea breeze, I am reluctant to share this as we wanted to keep this lovely place a secret!
The apartments are beautifully rustic, very comfortable with pretty artistic touches by Steph, they are well equipped and clean, but it is their situation which is the crowning glory, swinging in your hammock chair, on your balony, overlooking the beautiful quiet beach and blue sea ,dotted with colourful fishing boats.
We returned totally destressed, and cannot wait to return.
Steph and Alibaba are so friendly and helpful.
I have also never done a review before so do hope it will appear!

More happy people who stayed at Alibaba's Sea Breeze......

We would like to second everything that Barbie said about Sea Breeze. Although Steph was away while we were there, Brian made us very welcome and looked after us very well.

We have never stayed in apartments that were so well equipped - a full set of kitchen knives, kitchen scissors, a grater, toaster, filter coffee machine (supply of filters provided!), plastic containers to store food, and even a wok!

When we booked one of the things that swayed us towards Sea Breeze was the efficient way that our availability request and questions were handled - both over the phone and by email we were made very welcome, and email answers were virtually always the same day.

The location is fabulous - perched just above Heavenly Bay, with a view across to the main bay. Make sure you take your binoculars!

There is excellent snorkelling straight off the beach - we swam with turtles and rays on more than one occasion, and saw a wide variety of fish. The coral was in very good condition, and there were many different types. A nice touch is that books of fish, coral and birds are available to borrow in the 'library' at Sea Breeze, along with other books in both English and German.

My wife and I just recently spent a week at Sea Breeze and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Fabulous position, very comfortable accommodation and excellent hosts. For me, the only downside was the state of Depot Road which is due for some repair work, but this was not a great problem, I simply parked at the top and walked down; when we came to move on, Brian kindly ran our bags up the hill to our hire car. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at the Sea Breeze apartments. Neil Roberts.

Alibaba's Sea Breeze and the Boathouse restaurant, Castara

Post by Roland Siebenhorn »

We spent 11 beautiful days at the Alibaba’s Sea Breeze apartments from
November, 27th until December, 08th, 2005.

The four apartments are located directly on Castara’s little beach. There are
not many accommodations in Castara where you can stay as close to the sea
as at Alibaba’s. From the balcony you have a stunning view to the little beach and
Castara’s big bay. All kind of birds are waiting in the morning on a tree nearby to get
fed with pieces of fruits.

The rooms are more than fully equipped with a hair dryer, coffee maker,
a thermos, candles and matches, a ceiling fan in kitchen and sleeping room,
bedside lamps, beach mats, a torch and even an umbrella for rainy days. There’s a
library with books in English and German as well. The owners Steph and Brian
provide also a laundry service.
The kitchen contains enough pots, cups, glasses, plates, pans, cutlery and a sifter you
need to prepare a tasty meal. We found everything clean and well maintained.
The clientele during our stay were cosmopolitical, our neighbours were British,
Irish, French and German.

In less than a minute you’re on the beach, where the Boathouse restaurant is
also located. A steelband is playing there on Wednesdays, sometimes followed by a
jamsession with Brian “Alibaba”, Brenton of the Boathouse and other locals.
I´ll publish a review of all our visited restaurants later.

Finally we say a big thank you to Steph and Brian from the Alibaba’s and
Sharon , Brenton, Nyon and the other staff of the Boathouse restaurant.
We had a pleasant stay on your little beach paradise. Tatitata!

Lovely quiet unsophisticated apartments perched above Heavenly bay with an awesome view over Castara. Steph and Brian were the perfect hosts. Quite a magical place... see you next year!
