Wedding at LGC in October

Post by Carl Sherman »

we are travelling to LGC at the end of October this year for our wedding and i was wondering if anyone else has had any experience of weddings at LGC, having browsed this forum for a couple of months i have read varying reviews on LGC but nothing of weddings here. we are travelling as a party of 6 with my parents and brother and partner, none of the rest of my party have ever experienced the Carribean before and i am anxious that they enjoy their stay in the best of surroundings and go home feeling that they would like to return to the best continent in the world (in my opinion)

your opinions and views on what weddings at LGC are like and the setting for weddings (ie beach or gardens) would be much appreciated.

Cheers Guys

Dear Carl,

We have just got back from our honeymoon at the LGC. We went for two weeks and I can quite honestly say that it was fantastic.

There are lots of couples on honeymoon or getting married there. The hotel is very relaxing and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is not too large, which makes it more intimate and romantic. We were upgraded to a sea view room and had a bottle of sparkling wine, which we drank on our very large balcony looking out at the spectacular view of the sunset.

The restaurant is very good, mainly buffet service with some a la carte. The service we found was sometimes slow, but we didn't mind as the view from the restaurant is fab and you can always have another drink. There is not a lot of entertainment, but if you want a nice atmosphere, plenty to eat and drink and a romantic time, you won't go wrong.

The beach was not what I would call "white", but the sea was clear and you didn't get hasseled. The only thing we didn't care for too much was the wild dogs there, but they didn't really trouble us. If you do stay around the hotel's pool, it is just the right size for the amount of guests and you've got a swim up bar when you need a cool drink.

We did meet a couple who were getting married there just before we went home and they chose to get married on the beach. I personally would rather have the ceremony in the gardens, as the beach was too public and not your "paradise" beach. The guest relations people who organise the weddings are very helpful and friendly. Victor always had a smile on his face.

I'm sure you'll have a lovely time.

Hi there Carl,

Can't help you out on the question, but we are too flying out there at the end of October(27th).
My partner will be indulging in the spa facilities, and i will be sinking with an oxygen tank on my back......
