Planning 1st trip to Tobago
What a great web site!. We (a group of 4) were going to come to Tobago for a week next April. After spending hours on this web site our trip is now 28 days. We decided a week would not be enough time to do everything. We are staying in different parts of the island. Charoltteville and Crown Point (we are using time share points )for sure and probably someplace between Buccoo Bay and Castara when we find someplace on the beach. Most of my questions have been answered just by reading the forum topics but I'm sure I will have more the closer we get to April. Can't wait to get there, it sounds wonderful.

Hello Jeanne
Welcome aboard!
You're in for a treat - but take on board everything you read on this site. A week is not long, but it will give you an introduction to Tobago and the information here will help you to maximise that precious time.

Steve,
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. Our original trip was for 1 week, but we are now going to be there for 28 days. We had some time share points to use so booked a week at Sandy Point. Once I found your web site and started reading, I realized we would not be happy with just one week, so the trip has been extended.

Hello Jeanne,
Glad to see you join our group. As you read more of the postings you'll find that we're a pretty friendly (if slightly off kilter
) bunch of people. There's a lot of info on this site and if after wading through it you still have questions just ask. Someone will be along to answer and offer their opinion and advice.
My wife and I stayed at Sandy Point this past January (our second time). The resort is not glitzy but has an authentic Caribbean feel. Even though it's not real fancy it's kept in good condition and the daily housekeeping keeps it immaculate. The staff are very helpful and efficient but slightly reserved at first. When you arrive give them a big smile
, say "Good Afternoon" and tell them how glad you are to be visiting them. They'll warm up to you and be most accomodating for your entire stay. Remember that you will definitely be on "Island Time."
Again, any questions just ask.
Bill

Thanks Bill
I'm all ready learning that things move at a slower pace on Tobago. I sent enquiries to several cottages/apartments about 10 days ago and still haven't heard back from many. We did find places to stay that were highly recommended on this site. Our trip is almost 7 months away and we are really excited about coming. I'm sure I will have more questions later but almost everything I think of has been answered in the forum or in Steve's reviews.
