We stayed 5 weeks at Gloucester Place and from the beginning were made most welcome greeted by a rum punch and dinner on arrival. and in the morning breakfast with local fruits and juices etc.The rooms in the main house were large bright and airy with access to balconies. All rooms with airconditioning and beds comfortable.Waking up to the sound of the surf on the beaches below and and over the garden with loads of brightly
coloured birds. There is an extensive library of paperback books and a selection of DVD's for a lazy evening in
The cottage is self catering and although there is no air con it is cool and airy open to the breeze with an even better view point of the birds and garden
Bea will if you let her know make a dinner for you as an extra
and very good to.
The house is about an hours drive from the airport around which are the main shopping areas and night life and as the house is that far out would suggest a hire car for sight seeing the rest of the island.
Parlitouvier Bay is a nice quiet beach where you can swim or snorkel and buy fish of the local boats when they come in around 3 pm. Look out for the huge sting rays when the boats come to the jetty. The other way is Englishmans Bay where you can do the same with the convenience of a resturaunt on the beach.
For the more adventuresome there is scuba diving at Speyside 40 minutes away and also at Crown Point.
What more can I say most enjoyable holiday and would recommend to anyone.
If Win and Bea suggest playing dominoes prepare to be beaten as they are experts
