Hi John

Thanks - we're batting for a 1000 now.

Mind you, the 500 was a close-run thing. The 500th registered user is an obvious advertising post and would normally have been deleted. However, I think that many will agree with me that the concept of a "proper" motorcycle rental service on the island has great attraction. Mind you, I'm only 56, so not quite ready for a Harley yet. Now, a top-of-the range Ducati or similar could really turn me on (although I somehow think that the roads on Tobago might not be exactly suited).

suitable transport?

Post by Paul Makin »

hi steve

my performance choices are 4 wheeled and on my last trip i was, to put it mildly, somewhat surprised to find lurking in the garages by the s.p. village gift shop, ...... a black mitsubishi lancer evo V11 . and, yes, it was a real one.

this packs around 260bhp out of the box and is easily tweaked. full time 4wd, turbo, intercooled, water sprayed, pitch and yaw control, sub 6 secs 0-60, electronically limited to +/- 150mph, etc etc etc.

now that really is taking the p**s

regards
paul

Hi Paul

It’s quite amazing what can turn up on little old Tobago.

Although no longer ‘active’, I’ve long had a passion for horsepower on wheels. The first thing that crossed my mind when I read your story was “poser”. But, if you’re a genuine enthusiast, maybe it’s better to have a powerhouse and run about in first gear, rather than be stuck with boring, but appropriate, run-of-the-mill machines. It’s a dilemma.
