Re: Have a waffle with Carol
I also would like to apply for a job.
I am really handy and can cook. Do you need a chef????
And I love to pick fruit .I grew up on an orchard. I will dust and sweep and clean.
Imagine what I could cook with those fresh herbs.
I would gladly do all the above for just a few more weeks in that glorious Tobago.
I fish too, did I mention that??
OK, enough already, dreams be gone,
Take care everyone,
Lori

Aah well.. it's all sounding a little more complicated than I first thought. I'd be happy to do a jobshare as gardener with Gisela but all the other stuff sounds like real work and I do enough of that here. Better check last nights Lotto results.

Re: Have a waffle with Carol
Hi folks,
well Andy, seems like I don't really have a chance on the job with all this well educated competitors
But I will do my very best when I come around next time I'm on Tobago. By the way, I worked as a secretary for 10 years and I'm definitely will not getting pregnant ever and normally don't steal things. But I understand the Job is in Trinidad? I have a good friend in Trinidad where I could stay and 'thank God for the ferry'
Gill, back home and still in Tobagonian mood? Sounds good! Please let us know all about you holidays and your meeting with Sandra. Could you meet Lisa also?
Tony, I can do the job as a secretary in half of the time (I can work fast) and also share the gardeners job with you if this is OK for Andy.
All the best to all of you

Hi Sandra. They are all well thank you. x1 Mother,x1Son, x2 cockatiels and x2cats ! The garden fairies had been and left total tidiness behind them which was wonderfull. You will also be pleased to hear that my sister managed to retain her sanity in spite of the birds bless her.
Colin is fine but pining for Tobago already. He is wondering how soon he can abandon the business again to go back.Yes It would be good to meet again, Think we share the same giggle triggers.

Re: Have a waffle with Carol
Folks,
thanks for the overwhelming feedback to my posting
Jill, i will keep your application in mind
Bill, i definately do agree with the snow and with the green grass on the other side of the fence !
Lisa, we are doing strictly Marine Electronics and Electrical, but we should talk about what you are suggesting.
Please drop a line for andy (at) electropics (dot) com
Lori, you want to do ALL OF THAT just to be in Tobago ? It looks like Steve needs to introduce the cathegory of "Tobago addicts" here in the forum
Tony, i have tried Lotto for years, it just didn't help. Otherwise i would have stopped dealing with pregnant secretaries long time
.... the rest is managable, especially the fishing
And Gisela, yes my office is in Trinidad. For a Tobago fanatic, it could be tough to feel comfortable here, but i guess
you are aware of that.
Do enjoy the rest of the week hopefully without any big set of stress. I will think of allyou when i go to Bago's on
Saturday to have a few drinks and enjoy the sunset
Greetings from Trinidad,
Andy

Sackcloth and ashes not required. How wonderful a trip to NZ - would love to go one day but until OH really retires as opposed to threatening it's a no go.
Gill
Tonight I will sleep! Sorry, but still laughing , your sister has to be a star !
Bill
Will give you all the gory details once I can post successfully, needless to say a few tales to tell - watch this space !

Re: Have a waffle with Carol
Yeah right David, just now we will have a complete T&T-style organization with managers, who don't come to work, and the other managers, who manage those, who don't come to work (which means they have nothing to do but sitting down, scratching), and workers, who only show up for work on pay day
I think i will stay with my old garderer, who doesn't pick fruits, and my pregnant secretary, and my technician, who's van breaks down on numerous occasions and my collegue, who shows up late for work (i do, too
).
And some of my customers, who can't understand any such thing at all, because they are not from T&T

Re: Have a waffle with Carol
Andy,
Doesn't sound much different than a city work crew in Chicago - 8 supervisors to watch one man (all of whom are related to the local politicians) fill potholes in the pavement using inferior asphalt purchased for twice the going rate from a company owned by the mayors brother-in-law
Of course all of our friends in England would be aghast to think that the politicos were lining their own pockets at the taxpayers expense
Bill

The Brits do not do real anger very often but at the moment this little island is seething !" A plague on all your houses " seems to be the feeling and rightly so ! We are mad, so mad. Maybe we should take a leaf out of your book and get around to actually writing a constitution ! All suggestions gratefully received !

Bill,
i didn't know Chicago was in Trinidad
Sandra,
we have a long list of politicians here, who are due to resign, but they won't. They, besides numerous other mistakes they make, support, to an extend, what Bill was describing.
We just don't have inferior asphalt....

Re: Have a waffle with Carol
Hello all,
I think that one of the differences between the two sides of the pond is that on your side there is a long tradition of holding to lofty ideals where as on our side most of us are more pragmatic. Political chicanery and graft and corruption have been a part of politics for thousands of years and we accept it as a cost of doing business and have developed the attitude that "that's the way it is". Those on your side, who had their idealistic image of the politicians as being "better than that", have had their "bubble" burst and the anger is even worse. Not only are you angry about the money itself but also about the betrayal of your ideals and who you are as a people.
But on to lighter things. The weather here is beatiful, the gardens are really starting to bloom and life is good.
Bill
