To hell with the weather - I'm sure you'll have a brilliant day, Gervais. All the very best to you both.

Have a good day Gervais.
In my last weekly update I suggested an indication that the trades will pick up and this would bring the usual showers and sunshine from Tuesday.
Right now it is a bit risky with quite a few showers close to the south of Tobago but hopefully the trades will blow away this weather by Tuesday.
Regards

Hi Paul,
Really looking forward to our first visit to Tobago on Friday.
We chose this time of the year as it should be the dry season, so I am a little concerned that the long range forecast on AccuWeather.com is anticipating quite a few grey and rainy days during our 12 day stay.
Are you a little more optimistic about the weather?

Hi DianeHazel
I would say it is rare for there to be no rain somewhere in Tobago in any 24 hour period. The rainforest and hilly terrain create their own mini-weather system.
During the dry season the rain would typically fall overnight or during the very early hours of the morning ... but nothing is typical these days. Last year it was incredibly dry and this year it is quite wet.
Whatever happens, you should expect some rain, mostly as showers and with plenty of sunshine and moonshine inbetween.
Have a good holiday ... any rain won't spoil it.
Regards

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Odd weather this year. We were in Tobago from Feb. 18-March 4. The first week was unusually overcast with sporadic, heavy rain throughout most days. Also cooler than normal. The second week was much drier and typical of the dry season with partly cloudy days and morning and evening showers. The seas also were unusually heavy on the Caribbean side. So much so that our sailing trip was canceled the first week. And Argyll Waterfall was running heavy, muddy water. Oddly, the Atlantic side was perfect once underwater for diving and snorkeling. I have never seen so many beautiful fish and the water was quite clear! The sunsets, by the way, were the best I have ever seen in 10 years of visiting Tobago. My advice, bring a rain jacket just in case.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Although February was the wettest I've known for some years, March is proving much drier. Nothing but a few scattered showers, mainly at night, here in Stonehaven/Mount Irvine areas. Today has been the hottest day in five weeks we've been here; so much so that I was forced to stop work about 2pm even though the villa we're in is not what I would describe as a 'hot' villa. Sat on the balcony reading, then fell asleep and now, just as sunset falls, I have a heavy-head and feel like sxxx. Such is life!
Sharon is so right about the sunsets. Have a look at this one taken from Grafton Beach a week ago. I promise you this is a genuine shot and has not been enhanced in any way - no need, quite frankly. Sorry to load in a separate page, but we don't want to slow this page down with it being somewhat off-topic. Photo: click here

Cool and overcast today, no significant rainfall though.
Enjoyed sleeping without air conditioner last night. What a nice change compared to Trinidad.

Hi All,
What can I say...Andy, you're down maybe around Signal Hill ?? and we're staying up around Studley Park and we're having different weather!! It's been raining off and on all afternoon (sometimes heavy). This morning had looked fairly clear. Had to turn on the a/c last night or the bugs would have devour us....after 3 days of rain.
Paul, sometimes you must feel like giving up....all the moaning about too dry; too wet....you're just the messenger....we all know what happens to them!!
Cheers, Carol
PS I do try to remember that at this time last year we were praying for rain.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
As I feared in my weekly update, it did rain.
It was caused by a trough coming down from the north that sucked up a large plume of moisture off South America right out into the mid-Atlantic.
It should be clearing up by now.
Regards

It did rain indeed after my last posting, and again by lunchtime today.
Didn't bother me, ICC World Cup quarter final India - Australia kept me indoors anyway
Carol, you are right, sometimes a few miles can make a big difference in rainfall .... and mozzies.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Trinidad has experienced a mixed and unsettled weather pattern over the last few days.
Significant was the number of heavy showers and sometimes persistant rain fall for several hours.
It felt almost like rainy season at times.
Today started rainy in the east (Trincity), but it cleared up and it seems to be dry for the rest of the day.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Wow ... so T&T are now taking it so seriously that they have brought forward the wet season by 12 days this year
Well, mine starts on 1st June ... that gives me 12 more days to chill while the Minister of National Securities and 'Self Importance' flaps about for a while

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Well last year around this time we had some serious flooding in central Trinidad and people were NOT
prepared. I don't mind ODPM coming with their advice somewhat more on time.
Yesterday afternoon North Western Trinidad experienced some brief heavy showers, but nothing serious so far.
Temperatures and humidity are higher now and it really feels like rainy season. Hot and steamy.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
I woke up this morning (in Trincity) from the noise of heavy rain on my roof.
Getting in my vehicle was a mission by itself and i cursed the day when i decided not to buy an electric gate.
In other words: Rain "fuh so" today.
I will go to Tobago tomorrow and report from there. Hopefully not so much rain.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
The Wet (?) season is starting off with a bang Andy.
The Wave I mentioned in my weekly update is producing very heavy rain around the east Caribbean although the worst of this rainfall is probably over Venezuela. There is another 24 hours of sporadic rainfall to come over T&T from this system.
Conditions are even worse in the south west Caribbean Sea near Columbia with some weather models predicting a small chance of a depression forming in this area.
2 more Tropical Waves are in the Atlantic, the last one is quite strong and likely to arrive near Tobago during or towards the end of next weekend.

Yes Paul, i looks very wet everywhere. I just had a look to Scarborough, Tobago through my CCTV system, same as here in Chaguaramas, Trinidad.
From tomorrow i will be in Tobago doing my annual hurricane season preparations. Hope it won't rain when i
inspect my roof for loose "galvanize".
