I stayed at Shirma's for 4 weeks for my medical school elective at Scarborough General Hospital.
I loved my time at Shirma's; she and her family go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make the most of your stay. She also makes sure you have transport to hospital and to the supermarket, as well as the phone numbers of reasonably priced taxi drivers for other journeys.
Shirma is also a wonderful cook; I enjoyed many of her meals (she has a way with chicken!) and the mangoes and limes from her garden.
Other notes:
- I always felt very safe and had no concerns.
- All the other amenities work well and are as described, including full kitchen, laundry, wifi, and A.C.
- Very responsive if there were ever any issues (which was very rare!).
- A great way to meet other medical students.
I highly recommend Shirma's as a place to stay, particularly for medical elective students.
