After two weeks on glorious Tobago, we were feeling a little despondent at the thought of returning to the UK to be faced with minus temperatures & the unavoidable commercialism of Christmas (even though it's still only November!).

But on our last night we discovered Salsa Kitchen! A tucked away treasure on the outskirts of Scarborough, covered in beautiful greenery & decked with atmospheric fairy lights. We were wonderfully welcomed by Ian, the manager, as we stepped through the gate into the restaurant, which was filled with the most amazing smells. All thoughts of returning home were immediately banished!

Ian was the perfect host, giving us a full run down of the menu with tips and suggestions and knowledge to boot. He suggested three tapas dishes between two people and a must have garlic bread to mop up the juices! With no disrespect to Ian, we didn't follow his advice, at all! The food came out as soon as each dish was ready and was full of fresh ingredients and flavours. It was absolutely to die for, so much so that we ordered twelve dishes and three garlic breads between five of us!

Ian's wife, Paula the chef, was bombarded with our praise as we slurped up the last of the delicious sauces, and we vowed we'd see them again next year for another great evening of feasting. (If we can wait that long!)

You'll find this little beauty at 8 Pump Mill Road, but be sure to look out for the lights as there is no signage.

Blink and you'll miss it! (And that would be a disaster).

Alas. SALSA KITCHEN's owner, Iain and his wife Paula, have hung up the apron and the Restuarant is now closed, according to our mutual friend, J, who lives in Bon Accord.

Hi Kurt,

I Just spoke with Ian at the Salsa Kitchen and they are now closed. They have been for some time now as he now has to have hip replacement surgery and with the climate in Tobago (less tourists) they decided to call it a day... Pity.
