Power adapters

Probably taking an iPod, a digital camera and a DV Camcorder with me in two weeks...

What adapter/s* for the chargers can anyone recommend?

*ie any you can specifically point me at that will work.

Hi Marc

I was under the impression that most/all these devices cope with anything from 110~240v and automatically drop the current down to the trickle charge required. You will simply need a plug converter to change the charger from the UK three-pin (or possibly two-pin round) to the T&T two-pin flat (see our [http://www.myTobago.info/electricity.htm]Electricity[/url] notes for details.

I have a travel adapter, just didn't want to fry my cameras etc!

Hi Marc

I'm sure I'm right, but it does no harm to double check. Just have a look at the label on the charger unit for each piece of kit. If it says "Input: 100-240V~50/60Hz) then you can basically use it anywhere in the world and it will automatically adjust the input current with no risk of frying your kit.

Took Ipod, lap top, digital camera, mobile phone etc. All absolutely fine.

Just forgot to take travel adaptors. Went all over the island to try and buy a uk to Tobago. Do not bother you will not find them. However there is an electrical store in Scarborough, who if you wait will build you an adaptor.

Three pin box, cable to Tobago plug. Worked a treat. Will follow up with exact address, but in a small square off the Old Milford Road on the way towards Crown Point from Scarborough.

Got me a Trans-World Max 6A 1110-250v with round pins and flat pins (both two).

"does not convert voltage".

I think I'm in the zone.

Sounds like you're in business, Marc. With that amount of kit (plus shaver and hairdryer?) it might be handy to take two. Don't worry, you can pick them up at Gatwick airport in several of the shops down there.

I'll have every song I own with me on the iPod. My new DV Cam to play about with, and the digicam for anything that looks better still than moving!

Not long now, less than two weeks staring at this !

Marc, as you are staying at the Rex Turtle Beach, I can confirm that in the rooms they have normal UK 3 pin plug sockets. (Certainly in the 3 storey block).
