I Plan to be in Heaven before I die......

Post by D McComie »

Hello the Woolers from the McComies.

1) Thanks to both of you for your time and obvious enthusiasm for Tobago. It is a splendid indication of the reality of visiting the island.

2) I would like to order one of your CD's (happy to send a cheque if you wish - I tried calling the tel. numbers on your site but they were not in use). e-mail with details.

3) I must confess that I have more than a passing interest in Tobago, as member of an "Oil Field" family (Shell then Texaco then National Petrolieum) I was exported to T&T at the age of 3 and was asked to apply for a work permit on reaching the age of 21 or stay but be unable to work or own property (the bad old days), so I married my long suffering girlfriend (my mother's idea) and returned to Kingston On Thames in Surrey, to start another phase of my life. The annoying thing is all my brothers and sister now carry Trinidad passports being born there and have all settled with vast familles.

4) Over the years we have returned to T&T almost every year for a great time. We now have girl of 11 and a boy of 8 who have also had the pleasure of each school summer holiday in Tobago. They are approaching the expensive "scuba age" but I look forward to allowing them to have the times of their lives, this year they will be showing me their favorite snorkeling sites.

5) Have read with interest your responses to Forum postings and hereby volunteer to contribute to articles on various aspects of Holiday & life on the island of Tobago. Trinidad is also worthy of exploring but you do need to be a lot better organized and preferably "adopted" by those who have grown up within the culture and have a personal network that can ease things along in fun and safety.

6) Our family has lived in various parts of Trinidad, Guyana and Barbados over the years, I can think of no finer way to spend your early years.

7) We are planing to spend three weeks from 17 July this year in Tobago with the middle week in Trinidad catching up with friends and family.

8) As I am a keen motorcyclist, and can think of no better way of re-acquainting myself with Tobago than by motorbike. An early morning run from Crown Point to Speyside for breakfast and coffee, then onwards to the next Shrimp Roti and a Carib is my idea of heaven.

:D

No wonder my phone has been so quiet.

Only joking, but thanks for pointing it out. I moved house at the beginning of this year and thought I had changed the numbers on the Contact page. I have done so now.

I am delighted that you want a copy of the CD-ROM. You can order by credit card through my secure order page on the site, or simply email me ( [email protected] ) and I will send you my address where you can send a cheque).

Yes, while I admit that I would not be seen dead on a Harley in this country (far too "yuppie" for a Rocker from the '60s like me), I can strongly recommend a run out in Sheppy's Harley in Tobago. Yes, a couple hours up the coast, a shrimp roti and a Stag (you're driving a bike, not a scooter, so no Carib please) would indeed be close to heaven.

I look forward to hearing from you.
