Yes Paul, and I hadn't even realised it. It seems that I am the pot that called the kettle black.
Guilty as charged!

Pills and chills
Once again, Carol, congrats for a fantastic contibution to these pages. I will NOT ask what pills You are on that gives You such an energy boost but I would like to state that I actually liked the pic of the "hideous" apartments in Plymouth. I think Plymouth itself looks like a collection of mouldering driftwood after high tide. A defenite improvement!
Chrs from Your friendly doc-on call this weekend but obviously 5 minutes to spare for the Emerald Isle.

Hey Tony,
good you recognize that all is you fault
Makes it easier for you, eh?
Hey Carol!
You are back and still in that mood! Can I have some of your pills? Please?
Can't stand to watch the photos and like to laugh and cry in one time. So you meet Gaston Jackson (Mudgee)? He is one of my best friends and he knows the story about the goodlocking fisherman but I'm sure he won't tell you. It's a very privat thing and I don't think this is the right spot to talk about it. I'm sorry, I mentioned it.
Maybe one day we'll meet in Castara and I will tell you personally. Is that OK for you, Carol?
Cheers
Gisela
PS: Carol, when are you going back? Counting days? weeks? month?

Guten Morgan Gisela!
I hope you realise that your teasing hints about you and the fisherman have my imagination going into overdrive
So Gaston's nickname is Mudgee? Do you know everyone in Castara, indeed in Tobago?
I don't know when we'll be able to go back, although we'd all love to. We have other plans for next year and there is a little matter of time and finance
Maybe I could go on my own?
We are having a short break in October; a canal boat, in Britain
Hubby's idea, though I admit I was quite keen when we booked it, before we had even thought about Tobago.
I think I'll need some warm clothes. What do you know about THERMAL underwear Paul?
Cheers
Carol

Dear Carol,
NEVER EVER talk to Paul about underwear PLEASE!!!!
You don't knwo what you are going to start .....
How can you go on a canal boat in Britain in October? Are you looking for a bad cold?
Even in Summer it is ugly cold in Britain and mostly raining. How could you even think about this after being in Tobago??
I start shivering even thinking about it.
When is the next plane going? Think I have to take a little break in the warm and sunny Caribbean!
Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean by that, Mr Cornishman, though I have heard the expression "Surrey Housewife", in the context of a woman who swims with her head above the water to stop her make-up from getting wet.David Watkins wrote:Gisella, you have to forgive Carol, she is from Surrey!
By the way, are you a true born and bred Cornishman my luvverrrr? If so, I do hope you have a proper Cornish accent.
And I AM NOT FROM SURREY! I am only there through marriage ( to a Croydonee) and circumstance. I was born "North of the River" in sunny Hertfordshire, close to the Essex border and Norf London, so there.
Anyone from outside the UK must be totally bewildered by all this!
I've got a headache. Where are you Dr Stefan?

I'm glad about that, Jonathan - I would hate refusal to cause offense. I'm afraid that privileges like that only apply to those who have exceeded the 1000 post mark and who are therefore too sad for normal forum user status.

To the British folks,
sorry, for me this is unknown land. As a stupid little German I have no idea what you are talking about. I think I can live with it
Good to know that even Bill has his problems as a native speaker... ahm, I hope I'm not to wrong with my writing...
Carol, this ironing thing withh the man and the towel.... I hate ironing like Steph but I think it would make it a bit easier
And Steph, though I don't understand everything I laugh a lot about Carols postings. Brilliant!
And David, I guess I will forgive Carol almost everything
Cheers

Hi Gisela,
Sorry for the confusion caused by us Brits. You see - your English is so good that we forget you're not "one of us" - in a manner of speaking! (But since you're a "myTobagonian" - you're definitely one of us!)
As for the difference between English english and American english - well, there's a saying about 2 countries being divided by the same language. And it's true!
Where did this thread start.............................
