Hi Noe,
After reading your comments about Fabio I felt the need to have a quick "Google" myself :!: Gracious  I reckon air brushing, to say nothing of hair brushing began with him. AND did you take note of some of the titles :?: Surrender MY Love, Untamed, Lovestorm, Love A Rogue. He is even portrayed as partner to Barbie.Oh Please #-o .However for a few minutes I too was entertained and some of the book covers were very, umm, colourfull. Not rushing to the book shop first thing in the morning though.
Bill,
If you have any influence with the Star Trekkie technologists could you have me beamed to a lake near you and introduce me to "tubing" and watching fireworks by boat with a cool cocktail in my hand please [-o< .That all sounds so fabulous
Night Night everyone

David-good idea...we will have to investigate how to tube in Tobago. Hope all is well with you.
Bill, our lake home is in Oconomowoc which is southeastern Wisconsin. Sad that we have limited use of the lake but the plus seems to be that the flooding and storms washed away many of the mosquitos (for the time being). I did hear some place that Illinois was going to suffer a bumper crop of the blood suckers because a lot of the flood waters traveled south. Sorry in advance.
At least with the limited mosquito population we are able to sit shoreline and watch the sunsets by bon fire. Sunsets and a cold beer-can't get much better than that outside of Castara sunsets and Carib.

Wow! Stay away for only a couple of days and this is what happens... new people, new picture (sweet and cheeky, just as I would expect), new descriptions of our very own international man of mystery and disguise, Agent Watkins, new activities - tubing, sounds rather bizarre to me but what do I know? I have always preferred to keep my feet on solid ground. Something (and I don't think I will be breaking the code of silence by imparting this information) that I believe David and I have in common

Welcome Dianne and Jack. Couldn't resist joining up eh? I guess you are middle-aged and somewhat mad. Apologies if you aren't. I am. Jack, It's good to have you here 'cos I thought you were, dare I say it, deceased. Didn't you used to work for Southern TV? You were always my favourite on 'How' with that tweedy, beardy grandad look. Better than Fred Dineage. Do you still smoke a pipe? Not many pipe-smokers about these days. Well, not that kind anyway.

Tony

Hi David
GillM heaven forbid, you'll be wanting "banana boats" next.
There is already one of those is Store Bay sometimes :!: I was thinking more along the lines of bobbing gently in the late afternoon sun near enough to shore for the drinks to be replenished easily :D Not to excess of course, one should never drink and dive [-X .

During our last stay in Castara 3 jetskis came around the headland and into the bay and as is the way with them started to annoy everyone, it was great to see not only tourists but a large group of locals telling them to "go away" well I think thats what was being said.
Mind you I bet it is rather similar when the annual pirogue race takes place, have not been there when this is on.
We will be in situ in January but I can assure Davd I will keep my lens covered as I do not want to get sand in it as its too uncomfortable.

David,

Your modesty becomes you

Gill,

I'm working on a Time and Space Warp Machine and it's good to know that I have someone brave enough to be the first vict.......oop's I mean passenger on the inaugural run

When we have our big myTobago meet-up in 03/2010 we'll just have to assign Ali-Baba the task of gathering up a bunch of old inner tubes from truck (lorry) tires (tyres). Then we can lash them together and float and drink in Heavenly Bay 8)

Dianne,

Before we bought our cottage in Indiana we owned one on Beaver Dam lake and quite often would drive by Lake Oconomowoc on our travels back and forth. At least you still have your lake, not like the poor people on Lake Delton who had it sucked out from under them

Evening folks!
Bruv, you're very kind; I've never been called sweet and cheeky before!
I'm so glad you mentioned Jack Hargreaves as I wasn't sure whether to or not, as our Jack may be too young to remember him! Do you remember Jack Hargreaves in "Out of Town" with a theme tune by Max Bygraves? It was on every Sunday I think.

David, there's no need to apologise. I await the emergence of yet more of your fans with interest....

Bill and Dianne, I'm glad we don't have place names like Oco.. Ocono...thingy dooda over here! :-s

Greetings from your first ??????? passenger :D . Yeah now you'r talking. You have got the exact jist of the bobbing thing.Collective tubing =D> Could be hilarious as a spectator sport if anyone decided to "rock the boat". I think float and drink parties could catch on.

If I can backtract to the subject of Fabio for a moment, I thought I might try my hand at a romantic novel, set, naturally, in Tobago. I have yet to think of a title, so may need your help. I did think of "Hot Caribbean Nights", but thought that sounded a bit...

Here's a taster:

They met on the beach at Castara, on a sultry moonlit night, with the sounds of the breeze gently rippling the palm fronds, the waves lapping rhythmically against the soft golden sands, and the distant sound of steel pan drums drifting from across the bay.
She was a young, shy English girl, on her first holiday away from her homeland, and was overwhelmed by the wild beauty of this tiny Caribbean island.
He was also young and shy; a Castarian, working as a fisherman and lifeguard
.

So that's the introduction. Now for the final paragraph:

As the sun sank slowly into the west, casting golden rays across the Caribbean, she knew she could not resist her heart's desire, and gazed into his deep brown eyes as she melted into his muscular, ebony arms...

That's just a rough draft of course. Now I need to fill in a few details, such as a plot, but what do you think of it so far?

I could reverse the characters of course; we could have a shy Castarian beauty swept off her feet by a dashing Cornish chef. What do you think?

By the way, I hope you don't think I read this kind of stuff!

The next Barbara Cartland

Hello all,
Noe, sorry if I stirred things up, on your patch, with my description of "David". According to Dianne it may have been some female called "Fabio". I don't know who she is, but she was very good masquerading as David. This may explain a puzzling emotional feeling I had towards him/her.
As regards your piece of fiction (?) it would seem to be almost a record of My meeting with David/Fabio. If you get it published I want a cut.

Bill, thanks for the welcome. You've let your age out of the bag, much, much younger than Me.
I was slightly offended at the "off ballance" comment. I fancy the younger generation in our North American colony are getting a little cocky and outspoken. Pay the damned tea tax, and stop moaning. You'l be wanting independence next!

Tony, you've rumbled me. I've been dead for fourteen years now, but living in Sidmouth, East Devon ,no one noticed. The average age here is deceased. It does lead to a strange odour in the air, but you get used to it.

MR Woolmer sir, may I say that in my opinion you've produced the finest tourist site on the Web. I wonder if you sometimes think you've created a monster? Many thanks.

General comment, We stayed in Castara for one week end of Jan 2008. Had such a grotty and miseable time that we're going back Jan 2009 for two weeks.

Hav'nt heard much from Stephanie and Brian lately. I guess they've now discovered that civilised life is on hold. Don't worry you two, it WILL return to normal, ( in about twenty years if your lucky)

Bye for now, confused Jack

About what exactly Paul?

I take it that as you are about to shave off your beard you have completed your Community Service order of reading this entire thread from the beginning?

And congraulations on your new appointment as Public Relations Consultant for Mother Nature. =D>

Mr Hargreaves,

I think you may be seriously off your rocker; which makes you a perfect member of this community.

Off to write some more of my novel.
