[Rere and Rakeb]

Rakeb and I had the pleasure of staying at Shirma's Apartments throughout our medical elective at the Scarborough Hospital in Tobago. Clifford (Shirma's husband) picked us up from the airport saving us from having to organise transport. On arrival at the apartments, Shirma gave us the warmest welcome. The apartments were very clean and homely. They were kitted out with all the essentials including a washing machine and multiple ACs.

Shirma organised transport to the hospital for us every morning which was amazing, she also gave us the numbers of multiple taxi drivers in the area who gave us reasonable prices for other trips we went on. We were also lucky to have met some of the most wonderful people here as there were multiple groups of medical students from both Germany and the UK staying at Shirma's with us. Shirma also provided us with an amazing list of beaches and activities we may be interested in visiting on the island. She also organised many of our tours and excursions for us at very good prices. Shirma ensured that we completely immersed ourselves in Tobagonian cuisine by treating us to doubles and homecooked meals every Sunday.

Shirma and her family did absolutely everything in their power to ensure that we felt welcome, safe and enjoyed ourselves. They were the most perfect hosts. We will forever cherish our time spent in Tobago and hope to visit sometime soon!
