Getting around the Island
Hello, A group of 10 of us will be visiting Tobago in May. We would like to visit Charlotteville and drive around the island from the south end. Any advice on what the best options would be? is it possible to hire a maxi taxi for the day?

Re: Getting around the Island
Hello June
Welcome aboard!
I'm sure the answer is yes, but I'm afraid I don't know of any reputable guide with a large enough vehicle. My best advice would be to check out our list of tour guides (menu: Out & About > Guides & Events > Tour Guides) and contact a few to see if they would be able to hire a suitable vehicle.

Re: Getting around the Island
group size is working against you here - most operators are using "caravans" (mini-bus) which wont be licensed for 10 + pax.
check the local operators listed here - they probably will have at least a couple of vehicles that could be deployed.
A quick update on the reviews - suggestion that one in the south previously cautioned has upped their game quite considerably (no connection to them, trip advisor seems to confirm, but buyer beware).
googling "island tours tobago" brings up some operators not in the listings who seem to offer the full day/12 hr trip you might be looking for - not cheap though !
Depending on your accommodation the proprietors may be able to assist or at least advise. I know of one establishment in the south that offers a whole week of excursion activity, including island tour, for pretty good rates and in their own vehicles with their own staff as guides etc

SP Beach Club or SP Village ?
Beach Club has for sure a programme of scheduled excursions, including round island, which have always seemed to be good value.

I'm afraid Lush finished years ago. Mostly the land is being developed now.

definitely not, at least not the Shrivan Rd establishment. the old racetrack is still undeveloped but north of that theres a community housing development and then the big Police station
