We arrived Tobago a day early and late at night. Unfortunately, Thrifty was closed. Our reservation was for the following morning when we were originally scheduled to arrive. Not to fret, Thrifty brought the car to us at our hotel (Blue Haven) for no extra charge. Be sure to check with your auto insurance carrier before you arrive as to whether the rental vehicle will be covered under your policy while out of your home country. If not, I strongly recommend purchasing the CDW (Collision Deductable Waiver) that will cover you for damages to the rental car in the event of an accident. Believe me when I say that the locals drive like mad men and the roads are in disrepair. Liability coverage for your error covering the other party is automatically included in the price of the rental. Thrifty is a reliable and well known company, and their service in Tobago was excellent. The vehicle was clean and had only 3600 km on it.
