Sunday School cheapest means to get there from Turtle Beach?

Post by Caragh M »

Hi

Want to go to Sunday School and don't want to spend more than we need to, to get there.

Should we just book at taxi from the hotel and arrange a time for it to pick us up or is there a better/cheaper way?

Obviously we don't want to be left stranded there either, so want some reliable way of getting back to the hotel too.

It's just that I remember in Antigua we paid way more for a taxi ride than we would ever think was reasonable at home. Didn't really mind at the time though!

What time does it start/finish and when should we aim to get there?

Hi Caragh

Yes, pre-book your taxi and agree a return collection time. The evening entertainment starts from dusk, when the main feature is the steelband. Sunday School 'proper' doesn't start until after 11pm to midnight and then goes on until the early hours.

I agree,"tame" a driver first, perhaps go up to Black Rock to meet some,if you can. But,this is important, book it yourself,ie,NOT through the hotel 'Tour Adminstrator',agree a price, departure and return times, pick up location in Buccoo and pay on return, and pay only what you agreed to.Another one to be careful of is as you are looking for your return car, another driver may come up and suggest he is replacing your original driver, just quickly jump in his car and say "Jim told you we've paid him already",see how quick he says he made a mistake!!!!All that being said have a good time, early on it is very 'touristy'but later the winin'an limin'starts.
