We stayed one week at the beautiful Villa Carpe Diem. Owner Christopher Runciman was extremely helpful before our arrival helping us to plan our trip. He arranged airport pickup by his friend Troy, who also lives on the property and manages the guest house. he also gave us lots of ideas for day trips and some basic suggestions about the town.

Carpe Diem has the most spectacular views in Castara. We had friends staying at other Villas, including the very fancy Castara Retreats (?), and Carpe Diem was really one of the best. We were looking for a place with a kitchen so we could cook for ourselves for the week. Troy took us grocery shopping on our way from the airport and then we were able to get amazing fresh fish every day from the fisherman on the beach, and also fresh local produce. We stayed upstairs had use of the big kitchen and full upper deck. I strongly recommend reserving this bigger space if you can afford it, although the small places downstairs are also very nice. The place was clean and comfortable, showers were nice, and the kitchen is fully outfitted.

We had a such a perfect trip to Castara. And staying at Carpe Diem really helped facilitate that.
