Yeah - tell us all about it 'M', I've never been, but when we left the Panyards were all practising for Panorama. Is that over now, and have the bands returned to Tobago? We saw Carib Dixieland and Katzenjammers play in their yards, and it was fantastic to watch. I still don't even know who won from Tobago?
Is there much other music apart from Pans at carnival, if so, what kinds? Also can you tell us, is there a route that the Carnival follows, or is it all over the place. Must try to come over next year!
Steve.

Hi, Marvin,
Last February (it was after carnival), we were driving along the east coast highway and a bunch of young people were gathering outside a community center. It looked like they were getting ready to practice on steel drums.
We wanted to stop and listen, but were concerned that it might have been a private occasion and that we might be imposing if we stopped to listen. Are tourists OK at these occasions? I'd love to stop and listen, but I don't want to be pushy or assume I'm welcomed.

Does anyone know if there is any TV coverage of the Carnival available in the UK. This morning we saw some Pan music on Sky channel 211, ACTV, but it was not recent stuff.
For Pan music, I found this link, which has many recordings and samples to listen to http://ecaroh.com/pan/index.html

Wow - that is a great site Jill, I'm lost in the Parang Section (Christmas stuff) right now which is also great. Try this:
