I saw two people walking about with Fly rods in my time on Tobago-both looking somewhat dispirited. The flats so essentials for sight fishing Bonefish/Permit and the like aren't extensive. There are however at a couple of operators who specialise in Fly Fishing-a quick Google search will bring them up. The Bones are there-beach seines in Charlotteville often nab a few-all released as Tobagoans have no idea what great Marlin bait Bonefish are.

Hi James The answer to your question is ...YES. Quite a few people have tried, with varying degrees of success. See my posting of 22nd Jan 2003 in the forum index. Most people take fly gear for bonefish, and fail. I met a German guy last year who fished for bones for 10 days without a take. Still, he had a great tan! I'm taking a 10 weight outfit this year (April) for tarpon and some of the offshore species like dolphin and bonito. If I can be of further help, just drop me a line. Tight lines Steve
