Virgin flying without fear course

Post by Alison Meyers »

Hi All

I'm off to tobago in two weeks (horraahh) and whilst i was looking forward to it, my holidays are always slightly spoilt by the fact that I hate flying (all those noises and the fear that every noise sounds like we're going down!), however I went on the Virgin Flying without Fear course yesterday (run at Manchester, Birmingham, Gatwick and Heathrow) and thought I'd let anyone else who has a fear of flying know that the course was superb. At the end of the course I managed to board a flight and spend 45 mins in the air without gripping the arm rests like a mad woman once, in fact I would go so far as saying I almost enjoyed it!. So for anyone else who is perhaps like me and doesn't enjoy flying, I would really recommend it. Big test of course is how I am on the flight when I go to Tobago, BUT with two weeks to go I'd usually be having a big stress and losing sleep about flying, but I am actually looking forward to the flight now and thats a major step forward for me.

If anyone would like anymore information then I can e-mail you.

Thanks

Ali.

Dear Alison, The first time that I ever got on a plane was on the BA version of the same type of course at Heathrow. I still wouldn't say that I enjoy flying, but I can put up with it, and as I only fly to go on holiday, it has a built in incentive. However, contrary to most suggestions, I personally cope better stone cold sober and the beers on arrival act as an extra reward. Best wishes to all nervous flyers, Neil Roberts.
