flight from Tobago to Trinidad March 28 - help

Post by Ginger Yee »

We (family of 4) are leaving for our first trip to Tobago on March 17 (lucky us) with a return out of Trinidad on March 29. Unfortunately, all Tobago Express & LIAT flights from Tobago to Trinidad are booked on Easter Monday March 28. YIKES! BWIA has no scheduled flights from Tobago to Trinidad on Mondays, so what are we to do? I've contacted BWIA, but they are tight lipped as to whether they will add flights on Easter Monday. We really don't want to take the ferry since we're all prone to sea-sickness. We're using YesTourism (very nice people), but they can't get us on any flights. Any ideas out there?

By the way, we'll be staying first at Crown Point Hotel, then at Fisherman's in Castara, then at Half Moon Blue. (A bit much moving around.) We can't wait!

Out of Tobago

I know it is possible to charter a small light plane from Trinidad..... a friend has done it. Not sure of cost and how many passengers can be carried but will attempt to find out some details.

The ferry is o.k. on the Tobago to Trinidad leg...... it is much choppier for the return sailing.... so worth a consideration.

Regards,

Bob.

It is true all flights to and from Tobago to Trinidad over the Easter period (Thursday to Tuesday) are fully booked, as are all the ferry crossings. There has been talk on the local news that they may put on a few more flights as demand is so high but you will need to book these as soon as they become available or you will miss out.

Flight from Tobago to Trinidad

Post by Rachel Crew »

You might try Caribbean Star - they usually have at least one flight a day between T & T, and it may be two a day now.

Don't rule out the Cat (high speed catamaran ferry)... it takes only two and a half hours and is very stable so less bumpy than the smaller ferries. In our experience it almost always runs on time. Also, the passage from Tobago to Trinidad is usually smoother than going the other way so you would get a smoother ride. It costs TT$25 per person and runs at 7am in the morning, although not sure if the schedule might be different over Easter.
