We were booked to fly to Tobago staying at Coco Reef on the 6th February 2006.
Today when our travel agent once again tried to book our seats on the plane was told out of the blue the flight had been cancelled.
Having read a post on a holiday forum some weeks ago about cancelled flights it would now appear that Virgin Holidays must have known about the cancelled flights for some considerably time.
Virgins customer service department it appears to have problems not only regarding Tobago but with other destinations in the Caribbean.
We have been offered an earlier date but because the cost of the holiday has increased since we made our booking they have the nerve to ask for £300.00 plus more ,take it or leave it.
This attitude towards what have been long standing Virgin customers is a disguisting attitude.
Has anyone else had a similar problems

Hi All
Can I offer my own take on this situation with Virgin Atlantic.
Virgin had offered to fly a second weekly flight, operating on Thursdays, to Tobago from 7th July 2005. This new service was dependent upon the Crown Point airport being upgraded and extended and made more suitable for use by their Boeing 747-400 – the only jumbo that flies into Tobago.
As recent visitors will know, the pace of work in Tobago is slow, to say the least. Frankly, I could see NO evidence of any upgrade work having been done, or in progress, at the airport. I believe some has/is being done – but I didn’t see/notice it personally.
Well, I was told that Sir Richard arrived on a Virgin flight, totally unexpectedly, in February. He was allegedly horrified by the lack of progress. My guess is that he returned to the UK and promptly cancelled plans for the second flight. That should make those concerned wake up. We can but wait and see what transpires.

Hi All
We have been to our travel agent this morning to re arrange our holiday Virgin have cancelled all flights to Tobago on Mondays from July this year.
We asked Virgin Holidays when were they going to inform their clients and were told in order of date of travel. As we travel premium economy they could only offer us 2nd Feb as all other flights were full,we were offered the last 2 seats.
We would still have been in the dark if our travel agent had not been trying to book our seats on the aircraft.
Virgin holidays even asked us to pay a supplement to re arrange the holiday which we refused to do.
It is not so much that the day of the flight has been changed but it is the fact that they did not inform us and as this holiday is for a special occasion we stood the chance to loosing the holiday as it would have been pointless to have gone on any other days.
As we have flights down to Gatwick, car parking and over night Hotel bookings we are now trying to change these .
Virgin do not appreciate that changing a flight schedule out of the blue like this has many other repercussions
