Boat trip with Renaldo

Hi All

I must tell you all about the amazing boat trip we booked with Renaldo at Pigeon Point.

Last year we went on a trip with Frankies which was excellent, $70us for coastline tour, snorkelling and beach bbq, as we were going to be quite a large party I e-mailed Frankies to enquire about the capacity of their boats and was offered the same trip for $65 and had every intention of booking with them during our stay.

However, on our first day at Pigeon Point we met Renaldo, he said he could offer us a similar trip for $50us, plus half price for my 10yr old daughter and free for my 8yr old. We were a bit dubious as to what we would get for this price, but discussed the matter with him over the next few days, he even asked what drinks and food we would all like provided.

On the day of the trip we were collected from our accomodation at two diffferent locations,at 8.30, nine adults and two children and taken to Buccoo where Renaldo met us with a cooler full of drinks and Coco-motion! Renaldo saw us safely on board into the hands of skipper Marlon, then departed to prepare for our bbq. We were taken at speed along the coast as far as Castara, then ambled back stopping at Emerald Bay for snorkelling. My daughters had only snorkelled in our pool before and are not very strong swimmers, Marlon ensured that they were provided with correctly fitting life jackets and we all totally enjoyed the experience, getting the kids back out of the water was the only problem as they wanted to stay. We then travelled further down to Cotton Bay, where we had time to leave the boat and spend time on the beach or snorkel around the rocks at the end of the bay. (a word of caution, we hung some wet clothes over a convenient bush on the beach and were told to remove them as it is highly toxic!).

As we headed to our next destination, Marlon handed the wheel over to one of our party, Amy, the size of her grin on our photo's shows just how thrilled she was! although he did take back the helm to guide us into No Mans Land. Marlon then left with his boat.

Renaldo met us at No Mans Land, as it was a public holiday there were no other trips there, just Renaldo and some of his family and friends, more drinks were available and a delicious bbq, ofcourse there was also music and the obligatory limbo pole! We enjoyed a wonderful few hours here in the atmosphere of a big family party, nothing was too much trouble for Renaldo and his friends.

When it was time to leave we were all helped on to Renaldos own boat and taken to Nylon Pool where we watched the sunset, (the only problem was getting back on to his boat when we discovered he had no ladder! not very elegant to say the least, but two days later he told us he had just acquired a ladder so don't worry). We were then taken back to Buccoo arriving at about 7pm and taken back to our apartments.

I would strongly reccomend everyone to seek out Renaldo at Pigeon Point, this was a truly amazing day out, and incredible value for money. Tell him Tigger (my husband very soon earnt the nick name due to the large tattoo on his back!)sent you and say Hi from the whole gang.
