3rd visit to Coco Reef

Post by Zoe Campbell »

We are returning to the Coco Reef resort for 2 weeks (AI) at the beginning of August (4.8.05). This will be the second time that myself and my younger sister have been to the resort but will be the third time for my parents. They went back for a 2 week holiday in March this year after a very enjoyable 2 week family holiday in July last year (2004).

It is an excellent hotel, with wonderful, friendly staff and the food is gorgeous. The drinks service on the beach is definitely a bonus. :D

We are all very much looking forward to our 2 week relaxing break - i'm on countdown already!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beach Towels

Post by Simon Cox »

We are off to Coco Reef on Thursday next week.

I am a little concerned about the hurricanes - but hopefully Emily will be Tobagos only vistor this year.

My question is do we need to take beach towels - when we went to Turks and Caicos last year , we found we didn't need them.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon

Look you - have a great trip.

Beach towels are supplied at the Coco Reef, so you can save a little room in your cases.

Steve

Many Thanks - what a wonderful website this is !!

By the way, which side should we ask for if we want quiet at night? We have two children 7 and 4 who are well behaved.

However for everybodys sake - we want to ensure they get sleep, as it os only when they are deprived of sleep do they become fractious. Therefore I am sure others would appreciate it we found a quietish spot.

Thanks once again :)

Hi Simon

Thanks!

I don't think it makes a great difference, although one or two people have mentioned loud music from the awful Golden Star one or two nights a week. In case that hasn't been curtailed, I would suggest you ask for rooms on the southern (Store Bay/airport) end of the hotel. Sorry, but I can't remember what range of room numbers that covers.

Hi

We got back from Coco Reef last week. We actually found that pretty loud music was played into the night from the Store Bay/airport side of the hotel which is the side we had our room with our 2 year old.

When walking around the hotel grounds we found the other side to be quieter. However, we were assured by the manager that if we wanted to move we could do so immediately so I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Have a great time.

Hmm!

Obviously your info is more update than mine, Gareth. Any idea where the music was coming from?

We had a wander round and it seemed to be coming from where all the Store Bay amenities were. There are a few stalls selling tourist gifts and then a main building serving refreshments which stayed open late. I believe it was from there as there's not much else around the area.

I am a little sensitive to noise so it did start to annoy me up until the Sunday when I think everyone must have gone to Sunday School, and then the tail end of Dennis washed everything out so the music stopped for a couple of nights.
