Recent changes myTobago-website

Post by Roel le Pair »

Hi Steve,
on the new forum I appreciate very much the feature View posts since last visit. Without having the intention of posting anything, this feature itself is already a reason to register !

Evaluating this I came to the conclusion that such a feature or anything like it would be useful to publish, regarding changes to the myTobago.info site. You could publish these facts here e.g. every week or every month. You could also publish them on the site itself which is more logical perhaps. An example of what I mean:
changes last week (last month):
Restaurant-section: added 2 restaurants to the list
Reviews: added 1 full review
Beaches: changed Pigeon Point :o access for free, no uniforms anymore
(EXAMPLE ! !)

Your opinion, Steve ?

Yes, the View posts since last visit link (top right of the main forum index page) is a very valuable feature. It effectively allows readers to view only posts made since their last visit – very much like the old forum layout in some ways.

The other useful feature that some readers may not have spotted is the Watch this topic for replies link at the bottom left of the page when you’re reading the messages in any topic. Selecting this will send you an email notification whenever someone posts a reply to the topic. Saves going in just to check whether there’s been any more posts in a thread that you’re interested in. I can also send notifications of posts in any forum, but I have to set this up myself - I don't want to overload the system sending too many mail notifications. That's how I and others can often answer questions so quickly - we receive an email copy of every post often within seconds of it being made.

Your idea about an Updates page is a great one, Roel. Sadly, I don’t know where I’ll squeeze the extra time from. I’m already sadly neglecting my family, my dog and my business. I will, however, bear it in mind because it is undoubtedly a good idea that would be appreciated by many.

Keep the ideas comings
