Wel we've just got back from a week in Tobago staying at Coco Reef. I can say that it was wonderful. The service was excellent, the room had great views, lovely beach. No problems with over booking, it was very quiet. There was lots of room and shade on the beach. They have started to upgrade pool maintenance, the pool was the only part which needed a bit of work. I just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for the info on the site, I used it to plan trips and found it v useful. Soraya

Hello Dann. It depends entirely upon the level of accommodation you’re looking for. As stated by the Sunday Times the other week, the Coco Reef is the “best” hotel on the island. However, it is a 10-15 minute drive to either of the two golf courses. The Hilton is the nearest competitor in terms of standards of accommodation, etc., and is immediately adjacent to the excellent, new, Tobago Plantations Golf Club. The golfer’s hotel of choice has traditionally been the Mount Irvine Bay Hotel, right on the golf course of the same name. Although work has been done on this hotel in the past year or so, and I’ve received some very favourable reports from visitors who’ve stayed there this year, it isn’t quite in the same grade as the previous two. It all depends upon what you’re looking for. Whichever you choose, please let us know – it would be great to have some views from a golfer’s perspective.
