506 pounds for a Monarch ticket.

Post by Tregeor »

Hello everyone,
I've been quoted 506 pound (UK) by Meridian Line Travel for a round trip, 21 day, Monarch ticket from Gatwick to Tobago.
This would be on July 12th.
Does anyone know of cheaper tickets for this time of the year? I know Virgin fly there but they appear to be a lot more expensive than this.

Hi Tregeor,

We purchaed our return tickets on Monarch for £310.00GBP each return flying 3rd May 2 weeks from Gatwick, this did include a late booking discount but also all UK airport taxes, this was using Golden Carribean telephone number 0044 (0)1342 316900, they were around £50.00GBP cheaper than anyone else.

It may be that it is slightly dearer to go in when you wish to fly, but I am sure it is worth giving them a call.

Good luck and have a lovely time

Hi Tregior

Michelle mentions Golden Caribbean. They are the main charterer of the Monarch flights to Tobago, so Meridian Line Travel (and any other travel agent) would actually simply be booking the flights directly with Golden Caribbean.

I've checked the Golden Caribbean Summer 2003 prices and you have been quoted the correct price. The prices vary week by week, from a low of £357 for a 1-week holiday between 13 September and 11 October, to a high of £690 for a 4-week holiday between 5 July and 9 August. Sadly, you are going at the expensive time, but be grateful you're not going a week later - the price jumps to £633 for a 3-week stay.

Have a great trip.
