Hi All.
Just a very nice little pocketPC with built in GPS antenna and maps of all of Europe. Works like magic.
I'm wondering if there's such a things as a map of Tobago for this device.
The software is the Navman SmartST V3.
Does anyone know.

I really don't think you'll need it. It's impossible to get lost on Tobago for any length of time - there aren't that many roads!

I must admit your post did give me a great chuckle. There aren't even any up-to-date and accurate ROAD maps of Tobago, much less any maps in digitised form for GPS devices.

I once asked a Tobagonian why there were so few road signs in Tobago. He looked at me in total astonishment for a few seconds before replying that everyone knew where everywhere was, so what would be the point?

Have a great trip, Houle. If you wander off the beaten track in the Rainforest and get lost, the GPS could be your saviour.

I can see how this is a joke to you guys.
I wasn't really so worried about getting lost, but never having been there and seen the island, I just thought it would be nice to have it calculate distances etc. + It's so new it's still a fun toy to play with.

May be http://earth.google.com/ is the solution. After downloding the free version of google earth you were able to have a virtual flight - and zoom down - all over the world - so over Tobago!
This all is based on satellit-pictures and you can even change your point off view (more "flat" or directly from bird view.) A lot of places/beaches/bays were announced.

Unfortunately there are partly all over the world two qualities of watching: High solution in the marked fields - so clear, that you will see if there is a car in front of your garage (if you have a garage ) Low solution - good enough to have a excellent lesson in geography. And unfortunately Tobago is presented in the second way.

But also impressive without doubt.

Hi Nick.
Yes Google Earth really is a special experience. Unfortunately there were quite a number of clouds over Tobago the day those particular sattelitephotos were taken, so not so much to be seen.
