Alternative caribbean island for snorkelling

Post by Neil Roberts »

Dear All,
At the risk of being judged disloyal on this site, perhaps some of you well travelled readers could offer your suggestions as to other caribbean islands where the snorkelling is as good, or perhaps even better!
Many thanks,

Neil Roberts.

Thank you David! I see you've returned in good spirits. We had hoped to go just a little bit further and see a different corner of the caribbean. Besides, it's a bit of a trek to the Blue Waters Inn for a beer! Hope you enjoyed your trip as much as we enjoyed your "Letters from Tobago".

All the best,

Neil Roberts.

Hi Neil

I know I'm risking being burned at the stake as a heretic, but Belize has some wonderful diving out on the barrier reef.

Of course Belize isn't an island, but the offshore Cayes certainly are.
A beautiful country too!

Cheers
Steve

Dominica has some very good snorkeling. The water is very clear at all times of the year & there's little current to contend with. Like Tobago, it's an eco-tourist destination, but more mountainous. The people are friendly and crimes against tourist are almost non-existant. The only drawback is that there's no website like MyTobago for the island!

Dear Steve and Joanne,
Thank you for your suggestions: I must admit to knowing precious little about the countries which you mention but it's good to have your opinions to narrow down the search somewhat. As you say Joanne, it's when you start researching somewhere different that you are reminded what a wonderful source of information this site is.

Kind regards to you both,

Neil Roberts.

Dear David,
Isn't it good to have something like like that to look forward to! I can put up with all the day to day nonsense a little more easily when I've got a holiday booked, and I guess you're much the same. I hope it's warmer for you in Cornwall than it is here, the temperature change must have been a real downer.

Look after yourself,
Kind regards,

Neil.
