Where to buy digital camera
Hi, I'm currently in Tobago and just after 3 days my camera have stopped working. Is there any place on the Island where I can buy a new one, looking for a not to fancy and expensive.

Hello
Welcome aboard!
What bad luck! That's what we call "Sods Law" in English.
You certainly won't get anything fancy on Tobago, but there must be a camera shop or two in Scarborough. Sorry, I have no personal knowledge of any and my copy of Yellow Pages doesn't list anything appropriate under 'Cameras' or 'Photography'. I would suggest having a word with the senior staff or manager of your hotel/accommodation and then heading into Scarborough.

there is another mall at the waterfront going out of scarborough in shawparc dirction. the computershop procomtex is lokated there. they also have phones, faxes and stuff and I guess they might have a dgicam, too.
in town is a fotomart, that develops you pictures, thats a lace I would check. it is on the steep street going from downtown (where the yummy chiao cafe is located) to uptown (courts, phillips, sports and games)
if you go with a taxi driver they will know it by the describtion.
in the future, roumours say, there will be a radio shack in the big new mall they just finish opposite the tobago plantations.
good luck and good "shooting"

Thanks all for your quick replies, what a great place this forum is to get help.
I was about to drive off to Scarborough today and finding a new cam, but for some reason I start check out my existing camera once again, pushing all the buttons (as I already done several times) and suddenly it worked.
I drove off to S. anyway but much happier now...
thanks Steve for some excellent homepages, and to all others who takes the time and answer questions from Tobago-newbies like me.
