September Fishing
Myself & 2 friends are in Tobago at the back end of September stopping at Sandy Point . We have a couple of days booked on Grand Slam but will also be beach fishing . Any pointers as to where to fish at this time of year would be appreciated .

We're all on first name terms here you know
If you haven't got a car, then you're in a pretty good area for beach fishing. The fishing inshore can be pretty much the same year-round, with a few variations for the pelagic species offshore - April /May being good for billfish.
From the beaches, rocks and flats, expect tarpon, bonefish, jacks, barracuda, houndfish, ladyfish, parrotfish, wrasse, snook, grouper, small sharks, snapper and small stuff like grunts and captain fish, although don't expect them to be throwing themselves onto your hook.
Why not take a look over the many threads in this section for pointers on where to go, what to use and what you could catch. Any thread with 'fishing' in its title (like the two preceding threads) should hold some clues.

Not so many tarpon at Sandy Point at the moment. Also far fewer baitfish around there the last week or so. No sign of any snook either. The only thing I've caught in the last couple of trips there was a lizardfish which was only about twice as big as the livebait I was using.
No idea what things will be like in September. Best to go take a look early morning late afternoon - if the tarpon are around you will see them soon enough. Also talk to Kester when you are out with him - he will be able to give you up to the minute advice.
