Hi Zellah

As far as I know, Avis do not have an operation in Tobago. I did hear that they had tried to establish an operation, using some small local operator that I had never heard of, but I haven't heard any mention of this for at least a year now.

Thanks for that, also can you clarify CDW for me, if I take out the full CDW at $20per day, does this mean i do not need to leave a deposit of $5000 tt, many thanks :?

Condtions vary from supplier to supplier, Zellah. Some will require you to leave a depost, others might not. Some will take you credit card details but not put it through until/unless you break the terms; others will charge the deposit and then give a refund.

The only safe way to be sure is to email your chosen rental company and ask them.

Dear Zella--

Rent from Sheppy. That way you know you won't get ripped off! Read Steve Wooler's review of Sheppy. He confirms that Sheppy is the best car rental firm on the island, both in price and in good business practices. He's a joy to deal with!

Hello Zella, better than doing it yourself,do it through Yestourism then you have a local rep in case of problems.

Hi Zella

I totally agree with David about using Yes Tourism to rent your car. Have just done that for my holiday January to March and they were a joy to deal with - especially as it will my first time in Tobago.

thanks for your suggestions, not worried about hiring a car, although having rented for the whole of the last visit and not using it that much, only really want to hire occasionaly, I am based in store bay, so good location for the beach, so not sure how many times or when I will want a car. only 3 days to go, bring on the sun

I really should have mentioned that Sheppey was brilliant replying to me within hours but unfortunately didn't have the car my husband required (men!!!).
