Hello Tanja,

Would you please clarify this info. We will be flying into POS on 01/15 and planned on having you make our reservations on Tobago Express to hop over to Tobago. If our flight into POS on AA is delayed does this mean we would not be able to get on the next flight? Or is this 24 hour requirement only apply on the return flight to POS?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Bill,

The THA has wetleased a B737-400 from an US based airline to support Tobago Express during the peak season. Homeland security in the US requires that all passengers names on any US registered plane must be submitted to them before the flight for screening, this takes time. If you don't reconfirm your flight 24 hours in advance they will not allow you on their plane. Therefore no standbys on this service. They already have rejected passengers on this service without giving any reasons.Maybe the names where matches on the anti terror list. I will ask Tanja to post the times when the 737 is operating, all flights with Dash 8 are not affected by these security measures.

Patrick,

Thanks for the info. When we get closer to our trip and when AA hopefully makes it's final changes I'll contact you to make our reservations. If I understand correctly as long as you schedule us on the Dash 8 if we are delayed we can then take a later Dash 8 over to Tobago.

Hello Bill

Having mentioned that you are going to use their services, Patrick will now have concerns about replying to your question. He knows that I keep two large building bricks beside my desk, ready to emasculate anyone who uses the forum to directly promote their services.

I gave Tanja permission to make her post/annoucement because it was important information for everyone travelling to Tobago via Trinidad. Perhaps I can ask you to email Yes Tourism direct ([email protected]) to avoid me being bombarded by emails of complaint that the forum is being used to solicit business.

Steve,

No problem. I was posting this on the open forum as much to clarify the situation for everybodys info as well as my own personal need. I'll contact Patrick directly at a time nearer to our arrival to make our arrangements.

Are you going to be on island at this time? If so, I would like to personally meet you and buy you a drink or two as a way to say thanks for all the assistance "myTobago" has been in making our vacation plans.

Hi Bill

"No problem!" You're becoming a Tobagonian already.

Nice offer, which I would gladly accept (I need the practise downing a few to get in shape before meeting David Watkins. He'll expect me to keep pace with him, bottle for bottle, and still be capable of pushing his wheelchair back to his digs afterwards). It depends upon how long you will be on the island. I hope to finalise the dates before the end of September, but at the moment it looks like we'll be outbound on 1st February and in the Lower Caribbean area for the first five days before moving up-country for a few weeks.

Steve,

I learned a long time ago that life is too short for problems, there is only time for opportunities. However, there have been a number of times that I have felt like strangling someone for the opportunity they caused me. ](*,)

We will be in Castara 01/15 thru 01/19 and then at Sandy Point Beach Club until 01/26 so it looks like we'll miss you. Wait, that creates another opportunity - I'll have to drink yours as well as mine! I wonder how my wife is going to handle that - she still believes in problems.

Hello everybody,

The US based 737 on the airbridge will only be here until the 15.9.06.
at the moment it leaves Tobago daily at : 7:00, 9:30, 11:45, 14:00, 15:15, 17:30 and 19:30.

All other flights don't have any restrictions concerning standby or reconfirmations.
Hope this helps

David,

From reading some of the postings it sounds like I'm going to be hard pressed to keep up with you, but I'm willing to give it a go. However I don't think operating a wheel chair while under the influence is something I want to tackle so you'll be on your own.

Bill

Just remember; some people can get pretty mean when they've had a drink or two.

there is two possiblities what david is doing right now:

1. he cries into his pillow and never writes again here

OR

2. he is just figuring out a way to bring his machine gun for the next visit

good thing I did not say anything bad...

bill, be warned, he is going to be one of you next door neighbours

Actually, I hadn't realised it was a picture of David. I thought it was one of Paul getting his own back on that nefarious individual who sold his underpants on Ebay.

You won't catch me driving one of those things.

The cars in Tobago move a little more quickly but only when they go up hills.

Steph,

When you say next door neighbor do you mean in the room next to where we will be staying or at one of the other places in Castara? I need to know how much preparation I'll have to give my wife so she can handle whatever "opportunities" arise.

David,

I plan on coming fully armed with my own bottle opener. It will be Carib's at three paces and the last man standing will be the victor

if my plan stays as it is, he is two doors down in the hall... so be prepared... (by the wy, we have bottle openers in the room, so you don't have to bring you own "weapon")
you won't be able to run away from having a beer with david, but if you plan on having more than one and sing and dance on the tables, you better take the party down to brentons at the boathouse...

what do you say david?!
