Tipping Porters At Crown Point

Post by Gill M »

Can anyone please give me a clue as to how much to tip the porters at Crown Point? Is there a fixed rate per case?

Many thanks

Porters at Crown Point? Hmm! I'm not sure that I've ever seen one, but no doubt someone will correct me on that if there are porters. Don't worry about it though. The distance from the baggage carousel (there's only one and its the size of a bird table) to the public meet and greet arrivals area is about 15 paces and from there your taxi driver, or whoever is meeting you, will take over. Just grab a trolley in the baggage hall.

David,

Sounds like a great idea. And then the best answer to the OP would be "skip tipping in cash and just buy the poor man a carib"

Really David I was thinking more along the lines of one Carib per bag and figuring 2 bags per person you might need 3 or 4 friends.

Hi Steve

OMG I had better dump the hard shell case that weighs 17 lbs empty. It does have wheels but I'd hate it to wreck the "bird table" carousel. Virgin are very generous with their hold allowance of 140 lb per person which is great if you don't suffer with back problems!

Motto: smaller case and grab a trolley.

Many thanks

Hi David and Bill

Well, I think this porter franchise could be a GREAT idea, sure worth more than a Carib a suitcase that's for sure as I don't want to spend two months (or even a day or two for that matter) with a whingeing back!!

Gill's mind is now clicking onto business opportunities.
