2ND TRIP!

Post by Mandy H »

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I have just booked our 2nd trip to Tobago - going from 15-29th March. Last year, we stayed in Black Rock for two weeks - this year we are doing 1 week in Buccoo(Sea Edge), 2 nights in Charlotteville, and 5 days in Castara(Hidden Cottage).

I'm trying to book for either Cholson Chalets, or the White House, so just waiting to see who gets back to me!

For those who have been since last March - any changes, must see sights, or new restaurants?

Very excited - 7 weeks and 2 days, but hey who's counting :P

Did someone mention an ice cold Carib :D

OK.....so no one has responded to my first post.....don't worry....I'm not one to take offence....

Seriously though, we haven't had any luck with accomodation in Charlotteville - perhaps because we only want to do a 2 night stay there. Top River Pearl said we should contact them when we're on the island, and see if then can take us then (they don't take bookings for less than 7nights).

Steve, or anyone else...is it a wise decision to go travel without accomodation in Charlotteville, or is it likely that we will get something (bear in mind, The White House and Cholson Chalets are full, and Top River say we have to wait until arrival)???????

We just don't want to end up homeless and on the beach with the crabs and sand flies!!!!!

Please someone reply....I'm feeling lonely and I'll cry if you don't! Feel bad? Then get typing!!
:D

there there...don't cry mandy

maybe there was just not enough new stuff to report. tobago is a slow developing country...

I would not risk to not book a place for march. can only speak for castara, but that seems getting quite booked already. maybe you write down the numbers of the interesting places in charlotteville and call them when you are on the island. but don't expect to get a place close to the beach on short notice...

hope you will have agreat holiday and enjoy all the places you will stay at

Hi Mandy

Sorry nobody replied, but I didn't see a question there, to be honest.

I agree with Steph - it would be risky to go up there without having somewhere booked. Let's be honest - there's very little visitor accommodation in Charlotteville and you've mentioned the best of the bunch. My advice would be to telephone Top River Pearl while you are at Sea Edge. If they are then prepared to accept you for 2 nights, great. If not, it would be worth having a list of alternatives you could try ringing.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Oh, Steve, the question in the first post was...."For those who have been since last March - any changes, must see sights, or new restaurants?"!!

Thanks for the advice, I will try another couple of places before we head out, and then write down a few numbers to call out there, and hope for the best! :D

only a few visitors can answer the question about new places, since all the ones that have been here only once don't know what was new...;o)

I would not know because restaurants and shops come and go on a daily basis... so what came when? no clue!
so just check it out, if you see one and then let everybody else know.

have a great time

Thanks for the replies - Jens, I will give your suggestion a try, and hope we have some luck.....thought Charlotteville would be the easier place of the three places we're staying in to get accomodation - how wrong I was!!

In Charlotteville you should try Rosa's place (ask fo the 2nd floor apt.) It is right on the water off of the Pirates Bay path and is a great simple apartment, with a location that can't be beat. Contact Gifford Neptune who also runs the Belaire cottages in Charlotville.
Have Fun, we will be there in 4 days!!!!
