Castara conditions (sea and sun)

ie Sea get choppy at certain times of the season etc?

Yes Marc

The sea can be quite heavy during the dry season from time to time and it peaks around the full moon.

It is the crashing of the waves on the beach that attract turtles to lay their eggs there.

Just realised, I meant to be slightly more specific - Little Castara (Heavenly Bay).

Marc,the sea literally changes day by day.For a two year old I would go to Big Bay where the tot can play in the river at the edge of the sea and be protected by the sand banks.If you look in weather feedback you will see that over the past week sea conditions changed almost daily.

Thanks David - yep, spent an hour or two in Castara last time out - and was made to "build a dam" in the river for the bigger nipper!

Agree with David.

Heavenly Bay has a Coral Reef that almost reaches the beach and it is a little rocky in parts ... I think, from recollection, there are also a few sea urchins around there.

The bigger Bay is safer but when the sea is heavy you do need to be careful with small children.
