Diving Insurance

Post by Anthony Townsend »

Hi,

Having won a prize in the competition, I'm stuggling to get insurance to cover me to take my prize :( . Does anyone know of companies willing to cover people learning to dive in Tobago?

Thanks,

Anthony.

Hi,

We used http://www.essentialtravel.co.uk/ as it covers diving with an instructor to 30m (must be accompanied with a diving instructor or if qualified, with a buddy)

edit - wording from the policy - If you do not hold a qualification you are only covered to a depth of 18 metres. (which as you are learning - you will not go deeper than this anyway).

The price was reasonable too. We took the annual policy at a cost of £60 for the two of us for a year.

Hope this helps.

a little late but this may help - when shopping around for travel insurance for trips to various places i was pleasantly surprised to find that my then insurers, whose name i dont recall but whose tel # is +44 (0) 1603 464123, cover recreational diving and courses providing one stays within the limits of their training, certifications etc.
