Aerial tours of Tobago

Post by Kathy A »

Please can anyone advise if it is possible to have either a helicopter or small plan aerial tour of Tobago. In my guide book it recommended Hummingbird but I have contacted them and they no longer offer this service.

David,

Look at the bright side though. Instead you took the off road tour with Alibaba accompanied by my beautiful and charming wife (and the not quite so beautiful or charming me).

Hi Kathy

A real shame that Hummingbird's Tobago-based operation haven't been able to get off the ground, so to speak and a real downer for David.
It's the prize I would have chosen, IF I had won, but that's accademic, seeing as I didn't.

The next best thing must be Steve's photo reconnaissance of the lower two thirds of the island - courtesy of Hummingbird, in the spirit of Andrew Harries.

See here for the best pics -

Take only photos - leave only footprints. I like that concept.

:( Oh how disappointing - I thought this would make a lovely surprise birthday present for my husband. Any ideas for something special to do that does not involve diving and is not too strenuous?

Steve, thanks for the great aerial photographs, if you haven’t been to Tobago before it gives you a much better idea of the island, I had thought we could walk from Scarborough to Castara at night! (Walked further from the Toon on a Friday night) however the topography shows this totally impossible, now I know why the taxi takes so long.

Tony,I would never even dream of walking to Castara by day or night.Even at night it is hotter than a typical English summer's day(75F)and the danger can not be overstated--many vehicles have no or poor lights even if they decide to use them and you get a ten ton truck coming round a bend on the wrong side of the road at 40mph......well I leave it to your imagination! You can rent a car forGBP20 a day!!!
