I am sitting here working (or meant to be) and keep thinking that this time in 2 weeks I will be in Tobago. I am cannot wait.

I could win an award for being miss dis-organised but when it comes to going to Tobago I am really organised - now this sad MY CASES are packed, locked and ready to go!!!!!! Yipeeeee!

Kirsten, you put me to shame. Jill is more organised than me, but I normally only start my packing around 4-6 hours before leaving. As a result, I invariably flap around the terminal building buying toothpaste and shampoo (the two items I forgot this year) - but I must confess that I've never forgotten anything important.

Tell a lie! My thanks to Steve Pitts who brought over the pocket dictating machine I forgot a couple of years back. I had to ring home, get my father to collect it from my house then post it off to Steve at the far end of the country so he could bring it over. Mind you, I was only without it for a couple of days.

Last year when my husband went to Tobago without me (I will never let him forget that one!) I packed all his stuff for him (he's a typical bloke and is unable to pack!!!) but forgot his underpants. On arriving in Tobago he released my error and phoned me and said that I was cruel and I had done it on purpose - as if!

funny thing is though when he was tutting at me yesterday when I was packing he did check what I had packed for him.

I have been teaching my tobago baby (22 months) to say Tobago and when I dropped him at nursery this morning he said " Tobago soon aeroplane" bless him!

Men can't pack? Excuse me!

Surely its the other way around. Men DON'T pack, not CAN'T. Show me a woman who can get the contents of two wardrobes into a suitcase. Yes, you ladies are great at laying everything out, covering all the spare beds, dressing tables and floors with everything that has to be taken, but its us men who actually get it into the cases.

Same thing with dishwashers. How come I can load the machine with everything from a three-course roast dinner but Jill can only just about get the breakfast things in (Continental breakfast)?

Talking of underpants, guess my comments when we travelled down to Crown Point from Charlotteville a couple of years back, only to find that Jill had forgotten all my underpants.

NO, NO, NO - we will NOT mention undepants again or Paul Tallet will have a fit.

Hi David,

Your comments really made me chuckle....

and I love the concept of taking my tobago baby home.

as for my hubby going to Tobago next year without me - there is no chance of that as we have seperate rooms booked - ha ha! not that he knows it yet.

I am also thinking about upgrading myself to premium economy and leaving him with the children - now would that be too cruel?!

Kirsten - if you're flying out with Excel on the 10th how about saying 'Hello' if you see me in the departure lounge. You might recognise me from my avitar picture, but I will be wearing an even bigger smile.

I will keep an eye out for you with your 'ol' man' and Tobago baby.

I am flying out with Virgin, what time do you fly?

If I remember to order my 'mytobago' cap I'll be wearing that! and I will be with the very chilled out little boy (so like Tobago!)

Anyway if I dont get to see you - have a fantastic time - I know I will....

Unfortuantley Steve, I wouldn't want to ruin your fantatstic reputation by drawing you in to a heated discussion regarding the male species and their inability to do more than one task at the time, to use the cooker, iron or washing machine.

However I was slightly concerned that you were able to load a dishwasher that was until I heard from a reliable source that the reason you can fit so much in to a dishwasher is becuase you break 1/2 the stuff in the hour it takes you to do the simple task....................

Be good and if you cant be good be careful!

Well - our scheduled depature time is 09:15

So we will be there before you!

You may well be going to reply 'but we will be leaving after you'
Remember - we are flying Excel, so we could well be having a sleep-over for an extra day or two

We leave at 9am....

Good luck with excel with flew with them in 2004, and had a 52 hour flight delay but luckily it was our return flight.

Well, 52 hours is long delay - so you have to do something to take your mind off the inconvenience of, as David says, being stuck in paradise.

By the way David - Excel book their passengers into Coco Reef, Mt Irvin Hotel, Tobago Hilton or LGC.

It's an inconvenience for some passengers and I sympathise for anyone who has to get home on time, but for some perverse reason I keep my fingers crossed that there is a minor fault, which delays us for an extra night.

Rotten aren't I?
