Turtle Beach

Post by Nisha Williams »

I have a booking for a two week stay (room only) at Turtle Beach and was wondering if anyone knows whether I could purchase meals/a meal plan once I arrive? If so, would this be really expensive?

Nisha, I called Turtle Beach and asked, and they advised the following:
Yes, you can buy a meal plan after you arrive. There are various plans available.
1. All Inclusive Package $US 90.00 per person per day. This covers all meals (breakfast/lunch/afternoon tea/dinner), and all drinks during the day (except premium alcoholic drinks).
2. Plymouth Meal Plan: 7 breakfast/7 dinners $US 370 per person per week
3. Buccoo Meal Plan: 7 breakfast/4 dinners $US 300 per person per week
4. Pigeon Point Meal Plan: 7 breakfast/3 dinners $US 267 per person per week.
The Buccoo and Pigeon Point Plans are to give you the flexibility to dine outside for variety. The Plymouth, Buccoo and Pigeon Point plans do not include free drinks, lunch, or afternoon tea. I believe that the dinners are buffet style, not a la carte. Each of the latter 3 meal plans include a free tour.
Hope this helps.

Clyde, thank you ever so much for finding out this information for me. It is very much appreicated. Sorry to be a pain but would you know whether they do a breakfast option? I think if I sort food out then I might not have to take as much cash with me. Also, would you know if I pay upfront or whether I would be billed at the end of my stay?

Thank you once again for your valuable help and information

Nisha :D

Nisha, they did not mention a breakfast only plan when I enquired, so I would suspect not, since "Breakfast Only" is the same as showing up in the dining room, having breakfast and then charging it to your room.

Regarding your payment question, from my personal experience, hotels normally take credit card impressions at check-in, with final billing and payment at check-out. But I can't say what happens in a situation with cash guests. It is possible that they might ask for full advance payment for the basic charges (room, taxes, meal packages) during check-in, leaving incidental charges to be settled during check-out.

Nisha,

I seem to remember that when our friends stayed at Turtle Beach room only, they had to pay an amount up front, whether they were going to use the dining room, bar or not. I can't remember the amount but it may have been US$150 or US$250. This was taken from their credit card and any refunds would be given at the end of their stay - just happens that they had more to pay !!! But they enjoyed the rum punch - as I did. We stayed All Inclusive. We also ate out a couple of nights and only found out about the packed lunch that all inclusive offers if you are out during the day, late on in our stay - although it wasn't that good so we ate out during the day if we were out.

We got our money's worth from the all inclusive in Rum Punch. %*}

Hope this helps

Jill.

Jill,

Was that $150-$250 each? Neither myself or my boyfriend have a credit card but I am enquiring about a pre-paid Visa card.

Am sure I will enjoy the rum punch, I need to stock up on some puncheon as my home supply ran out a few years ago! :D

Price plans

Post by Malcolm Butler »

Hi Clyde

We are booked in later on this year, but only on Room only basis.
May be you can help, you have mentioned prices for meal plans but would the prices be the same for children? The Oldest child is 11.
If the price is not the same, would you know what it is?

Many thank.

Malcolm

Malcolm, Turtle Beach advised that from 12 upwards is considered adult as far as meal plans go, so full price. Under 12 is half price. They also said that depending on how young each child was and how much he/she ate , it might be more economical not to have the child on a meal plan at all (even at half price) as there is a also children's menu that you could order from for each meal.

I recommend the breakfast and I am sure there was a plan you could get when you check in, but I might have made that up! (either way we ate there every day in the morning and had booked room only before arriving).

Either way don't do the full meal plan unless you can't travel out.

Hire a car and get out for meals - the food, when we went - was great for breakfast but really not so for evening meals.
