Dear All

My apologies to everyone who found themselves banned for a short while this evening.

While trying to ban a rogue computer connecting via a Dallas, Texas, ISP that was trying to hack into our system, I managed to include an asterisk where I shouldn't and succeeded in banning everyone in the world, including myself.

All sorted and we are back on line. Phew!!!!

My humble apologies to everyone concerned. Now, I'll get back to trying to trace this bxxxxxx who was trying to get into the forum admin account.

Thank goodness for that.I replied to the Banned User e-mail,and then suddenly wondered if it was a hoax, and I'd let nasty people into my computer. Not being particularly genned up on the computer security side of things, I had a bit of a panic attack!

For a few seconds I thought that someone took offense to some of my mindless prattling and filed a complaint

Glad to know that I can continue in my ways.

...and my husband suggested that the computer is trying to protect us from Tobago-addiction   I've got the illness and I've accepted it.... and proud of it!

Yes Johanna! Proud to be a Tobagomaniac!

was first shocked to be banned but wrote an eMail to Steve and everything cleared up. These things can happen and gladly Steve is very quick in putting it back to normal.

Thank you, Steve, for your fabulous work!!!

Believe you me, nobody was as shocked as me when I found I was banned myself.

There I was sat minding my own business when 4 emails came in simultaneously, including one from a really close friend, asking why they had been banned. So, I naturally turned to the site and knew I was banned before I even got the page (there's an intentional 10 second delay before the 'banned' page is displayed, to slow down/frustrate automated spam robots).

Anyway, just my luck to screw it up at the busy time of the evening - so once again my apologies to the 14 people who wrote to me and to the many others who probably just went on their merry way.
