A technical question for Steve W.

Greetings to the Chief!
I am going to attempt to put my rather pathetic photos onto one of those photo sharing sites while my son is out of the house.
This is probably an extremely daft question, but then I am a dinosaur. Is there any danger of laying myself open to unsavoury E mails, or more importantly, letting viruses and the like into the computer?
I am sure it IS safe, but I had to ask. Don't want to get into trouble with the family, especially son!
