Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback

Post by David Watkins »

Yesterday was mainly overcast with a few sunny intervals and the occasional light shower. In the evening we had an extensive(3hrs)period of rain and to top it all no current for two hours
Today is once again looking mixed,at the moment there is more blue sky than cloud, but that changes almost as I say it!
Cheers,David :D 8)

The clouds dissapeared altogether yesterday giving us a fantastic day. This morning has been absolutely glorious however a cloud has come and we have just had a light shower. It looks like the bright weather is on its' way back.

I hope things improve soon David, maybe a visit from Santa Claus on Thursday will be the trigger for the end of the wet season.
Did you visit the community awards on Sunday.

Paul,no I didn't go to the awards and whats this about Santa on Thursday :?:
Yesterday was an absolute washout and over night it rained so hard it woke me up ,I went on to the balcony the cloud was only about 50ft above the sea and it was tipping it down. This morning hasn't been to clever, tho' there is the occasional patch of blue....ah well, back to the Carib!

My mother always used to say that the rainy weather was gone when there was enough blue sky to make a pair of Dutchman's trousers.

If anyone can detect any logic in that, please share. I'm embarassed to have posted it on Mr Tallet's meteorological thread!

Over here we say "enough blue to patch a Dutchman's jeans"

I imagine it's because, at least in the States, the Dutch immigrants and those of Dutch descent have a reputation for being extremely frugal. Knowing my DIL's parents I can understand where this stereotype comes from

No worries Jonathan ... my credibility was blown a long time ago over a set of missing underpants ... their whereabouts is still a mystery, even to me.

Anyway ... this weather ... it has cleared up apart from an annoying blob of heavy rain just to the south ... tomorrow should be a better day regardless.

Stop complaining ... there is nothing wrong with Liquid Sunshine !!

Carolnoe,

You're being a bit of a tease

You know that we'll all want to hear of your grandmothers adventure. I envision images of her being kidnapped by a dashing Sheik and whisked off, on the back of a camel, to a tent in the desert.
