Hi there me and my hubby 2 be are staying at the coco reef resort for two weeks in may. We have saved up for over a year now for this once in a life time holiday. Could any one help us on places to go and see. Were into horse rdding and walking, has any walked in the rain forest would luv to know what that was like. And is it safe to hire a car and drive around sight seeing. I have heard it is safe there walking around at night, has any one had any problems. Would luv to hear about any good and bad experiences

We have just returned (yesterday!)from our second holiday at the Coco Reef and enjoyed every minute of it. Don't know about horse riding but there are quite a few walks although you need a car/taxi to get to them. For the rain forest, not a bad idea to have a guide. Not horrendously expensive and they are generally very knowledgable but you need to differentiate between a taxi drive rwho says he can show you around and a genuine guide. The hotel staff can be qquite helpful about walks but we found it better to rely on the representative in Tobago of the travel firm we booked through. We had no bad experiences with self drive but many of the roads are very narrowand/or twisty and with a surface varying from bad to worse! We also had no problem walking around at night in the vicinity of the Coco Reef. We were on B&B at the hotel so we ate out most nights. Very good reataurants within walking distance and a short drive away but don't expect eating out to be cheap; prices not much different from UK in our experiencekoareaWalking aDriving and walking around at night.

Jemma,contact some body such as Ali-Baba,or Yestourism for your walk in the forest---don't go in witout a guide!!! I believe Yestourism can also help you with horse riding.
