XL Flight changes

Post by Paul Williams »

We had booked our flights with XL for our visit next January which was to be direct flights on Saturdays and this really was going to be convenient.
This morning I have received a letter to say that this flight (and all Saturday ones) have been cancelled for "commercial reasons" but we can have an alternative on the only flight that they will now be operating and that is on a Wednesday, I could be accused of being a sceptic and say this is so they can land at almost the same time (1 hour earlier) as the BA flight and save costs for ground services).
We will hopefully be able to rearrange our accomodation as we still want to go but I would personally have thought they would get more customers by operating a weekend departure but I know as I work in another part of the aviation industry that logic never seems to be part of their calculations (look at Terminal 5).
Regards
Paul

it is a pain...all bookings made yet have to change and I am sure lots of employers are not going to be happy about it either. they played the same game for this year september/october flights already. lets just hope that they don't change it again like they did then... :(

hope you'll all manage well to reach here somehow
