Sandra,
You must be bewildered by all this!
Just to add to it, Tony is only my" surrogate" big brother; much as I would like to have him him as a real one. It came about when, with my extra sensory powers, I "outed" him as a hippy, and we found that we had one or two things in common.
You booked a holiday without consulting Himself did you? Oooh you little devil!

Bill, was I really upset with David? I'd forgotten! Dear oh dear!
It shows I bear no grudges, and he is another poyap, so I have to be nice to him!
What else have I forgotten?
Love Noe

Just noticed we're now on page 30

I must tell you about "Embarrasing Moments In My Life, Number 5647":

I went swimming this morning, to the Ladies Only session, which I enjoy more than the Over Fifties session because there are no silly sixty -year old men horsing around thinking they are eighteen and trying to impress us wordly-wise ladies.
I have now splashed out( no pun intended!) on some prescription goggles so that I can see where I'm going, and a hat bearing the legend "Zoggs" (planet Zogg?) My swimsuit is a black one piece, my goggles are black, as is the hat. No-one can accuse me of not being glamorous! I hate the hat, but my hair was getting ruined by the chlorine, and we must look after our glowing locks, mustn't we David?
Anyway, afterwards I went to the mirror to comb said glowing locks, and "Eeeek! I've gone totally grey overnight!" I had been somewhat extravagent with the talcum powder they tell you to put inside the hat to stop it getting stuck together, and so proceeded to brush it off all over the lady standing at the mirror next to me.
Luckily she had a sense of humour or might have found myself barred....

Hi Noe, Yes, worked out your relationship with Tony, but still a tad befuddled with this thread. Give me a break - am trying to keep up ! Will let you know how Himself responds to holiday plans, have a feeling you will hear it in Surrey. Tis your fault anyway, a story about flying was all I needed. Also have to say I am a closet hippy, saw Jimmy Hendrix on the Isle of Wight too many years ago to mention . Still remember my favourite kaftan and painting eyelashes and sequins on my face. How sad is that ?

Hi Noe
Finished raking manure, saw a twig of climbing rose that needed tying in , too lazy to use ladder, balanced on small stool and went a-- over t-t.! Now sitting here with frozen peas on ankle, bored to death so talk to me. Will I ever grow up - let's hope not . Sandra

David,

I think the answer to that question is rather obvious.

Sandra,

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Just use the time away from gardening to plan your trips to Tobago.

That's exactly the sort of thing I would do! I hope it's better this morning.
Yes I think you are a new My Tobago addict.
I'm off to work, then to vote for the London Mayor; Boris, Ken, Brian or one of the no-hopers?
Bye for now!

Not sad at all my dear. There are a lot of us about.

Just back from the dentist. What was supposed to be 'just a little filling' turned into major roadworks and now I feel that I have been kicked in the head. The pretty little Polish dentist (surely she can't be old enough to be qualified) apologised for 'wounding' my tongue. "Oh, that's alright", I dribbled, just glad to be leaving. It's not alright now though, now that the multiple injections are wearing off. Hurts like hell. Along with half my face. But then I'm just a man. No resistance to pain. Now where are those paracetamol...

Also... when am I going to move on from being 'Oh So Sad', Steve. Every day I log on and see that I am 'Oh So Sad'. This has been going on for a very long time now and I am concerned that it will turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, that I will eventually become permanently 'Oh So Bl**dy Sad'. I want to wake up one sunny day, log on and find that I am 'Oh So Amazingly Happy'. Help!

I have a story about flying to Scilly, which I shall abbreviate to the bare bones: I went in a light aircraft with my friend Graham who has a Private Pilot's Licence, just for the day, flying from Kemble in Gloucestershire to St Mary's and back. Best bits were when he was concentrating on the communications, and let me fly the plane! Somewhere I have a photograph of the Bishop Rock lighthouse which he took out of the window while I banked around to get an unobstructed view. Stunning.

St Mary's airstrip is a bit daunting for a small aeroplane: the runway goes up over a considerable hill in the middle, so by the time one is halfway through the takeoff run, the plane is still only doing 40 knots (46 mph, 74 kph). That's much too slow to take off, but once over the top of the hill, you pick up speed, racing downwards towards the rocks and the sea, until you can pull back on the stick and get airborne. Great stuff.

Enjoy Scilly, Carol. I hope the weather is good for you.

Hi Tony, Sorry your'e having a bad face day :( Ouch :!: ,
Thing about dentists is that when the phyisical pain wears off you still get left with a lasting pain in your wallet. Money that could be well spent on all manner of indulgences or just be saved for future use as TT dollars #-o With NHS dentistry in short supply I have adopted the Denplan sheme which at least gives me peace of mind about the cost. Finances eh?.
About the pain, try using Paracetemol and Brufen (Ibuprofen) in normal adult doses alternately. You can use each of them 4hrly, Stagger the doses so that you take one or the other every two hours. The anti inflammatory effect of the Brufen compliments the analgesia that the Paracetamol provides.Should help to get you over the next 24hrs but of course its not a long term option.
Would make you a potion and send it by owl post but my cauldron is not fired up for today yet :!: Rising fuel costs you know ](*,)
[-o< you feel better soon.

Tony,

You don't have too much longer being 'Oh So Sad'. At 250 posts you become a 'Tobago Fanatic'. I'm not sure that's an improvement or just a further indication that you need to get a 'real life'. And of course when one gets to over 1600 posts that really becomes self evident.

Noe,

I've read a little in the American press about the two front runners in the London mayoral election and they sound like they're straight out of a Monty Python sketch.

Bruv,
I'm sure it must be difficult to talk at the moment, and you're a man of few words anyway, but the way to increase your ranking is to keep on posting. Come on, you can do it!
By the way, I went for a filling yesterday. No problems, except the bill-£45.

Jonathan, Have you told us before that you're a Cornishman? It rings a bell. 'Course, you don't go on about it like some I could mention..

Hi Y'All

Bouncing back today with no pain and a determination to get to 250 posts. Thanks for your advice Gill and Bill. Yes Gill, it does grate somewhat having to pay £43 for the torture but my little Polish dentist is very thorough and I guess it's an investment in future chewing.

Bill, politics in this country is more like an ongoing Monty Python sketch than you could possibly imagine. And I agree with you about air travel - an excruciatingly tedious way to get to one's destination.

Sis, I am actually a man of many words but I have learned to keep control over them. Even now I can feel them filling up my head, wanting to burst out and anarchically arrange themselves on the screen into some spontaneous, nonsensical rant that I will have no conscious control over and will doubtless regret at a later date. Back, back you little devils.

Aah the sun is shining and I won't be 'Oh So Sad' for too much longer.

Was looking at air fares to Tobago... haven't they gone up a lot since January? Or perhaps I just got a good deal at the time.

Tony

Morning Bruv!
Glad that you are so chipper this morning. Don't worry about controlling your outflow of words ( perhaps I should take a leaf out of your book  ) what you do say is always worth reading.

David,
I'm only teasing, my little Cornish flower.

Yes, soon after I first discovered this treasure of a site. You will recall that before Steve upgraded the forum software we could all opt for little national flags; the Greatest Living Cornishman, in recognition of his devotion to myTobago, had a cross of St Piran which was unavailable to mere mortals: =; I believe I might have mentioned it then :)
